Character stats

How important is having a 4 in your main stat I am new and really fear that I am hurting myself by going with 3 3s than getting the main stat as a 4 and one 3

You'll be fine. For many species, taking an extra 10 starting XP from Obligation/Duty (or for just being a Force and Destiny PC) allows for four 3s and a pair of 2s, and this is a very common choice for starting PCs.

If you are making a specialist then you want to buy up to level 4, but doing this can really limit how useful you are in other areas besides your specialty. Like in Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax is really good as long as fixing the problem is punching something in the face.

I prefer to start with more stats at 3 and then increase up to 4 with dedication after I see how the game is going, and help out in areas the team is missing in.

If you intend to be a melee combatant, you want to get your Brawn as high as you can (it impacts your attack roll, your damage, your soak, your wound threshold, and your carrying capacity)

If you intend to be good at Int skills, you probably want at 4 in Int (there are a lot of important skills based off this stat, so it's worth investing in).

For most other stats, it's largely a matter of personal choice: Do you want to be 'above average' in a lot of things or 'pretty good' in a smaller number of things? Either one can work (depending on group composition and campaign, of course).

Well, that works if you only want to be a melee combatant . If you want the flexibility to do other things (ranged combat, starship/vehicle combat, interaction, technical stuff, sneaky stuff, good initiative, and/or resisting other people's interaction attempts against you) well, then I'd suggest putting some points elsewhere too.

The idea is a Chiss magus who will get soresu one day who’s main attack is with Harm

i debating int 4 for the extra damage with harm and for soresu latter or presence 3 so I can be the group face (there is non now)

You could have both Intellect 4 and Presence 3 for 90 (starting) XP.

I have willpower at 3 already the last sticking point for figure out the stats was do I go for int for the fighting stats or pres some talking skills

In that case, I'd consider leaving Presence at 1 and taking Brawn 3, Intellect 4, and Willpower 3. The extra WT and Soak (especially) are helpful.

Just because nobody else is going talky doesn't mean it has to be your job.

Melee / Brawling combat tends to be 'go big or go home': If you aren't able to invest in a 'big' brawn score, you should probably stick to blasters.

If you don't already have a 'brain' character, I'd probably go with the 4 Int.

If you do have another character with high Int, I still probably go with the 4 Int (like HappyDaze said, being the 'face' is only your job if you want it to be).
