Has anyone been able to find a build or a pilot they like for Scum while playing hyperspace? I just find the fang fighters die way to quickly, the falcon doesn't do enough output, and the firespray costs to much to pair it with other ships to make it work. Maybe I'm just missing something. Any tips or ideas would be very much appreciated!
Scum in HyperSpace Format
When considering Scum in Hyperspace, Boba is usually my first instinct. Whether the loaded down Marauder/Han Gunner build, or the lighter Perceptive Co-pilot and Slave 1 title. He’s a solid piece to start with, in my mind.
I usually go from there and try to team him up with a flanking Ace. A budget Han, Fenn Rau, or Old Teroch can fill this nicely. Fangs can be fragile, but can be worth it with careful flying and the Lady’s smile.
The final ship is usually something on the filler end, like a base Mining Guilt Tie. Depending on how you want to do it, an Escape craft to feed the likes of Boba with extra actions might be worth it as well.
There is already a discussion going in the Squad Building sub-forum about this.

Thank you! I was looking for a thread like this and couldn't find anything

I feel the lady has been frowning on me lately, hopefully my luck will turn! Flying hyperspace has been a rough learning curve for me. Thank you so much for the tips

Well, the Lady is fickle. Been plenty of times I’ve nearly sworn off Fangs because of my rolls. But then I come back and have a game where I remember why I love them.
Anyway, hope you find something solid you can have fun with.

Currently, Paul Heaver is running this at krayt cup:
Boba Fett (86)
Trick Shot (2)
Qi'ra (2)
Proximity Mines (6)
Rigged Cargo Chute (4)
Slave I (2)
Old Teroch (56)
Fearless (3)
Lando Calrissian (Scum) (Escape Craft) (29)
Trick Shot (2)
Tactical Officer (2)
Total: 194
Boba and Teroch do the heavy lifting; Lando coordinates extra mods, reposition, Qi'ra locks, or Cargo drops, and a decent bid for the dual I5's and Slave One.
Lots of synergy in the Boba loadout - Boba's rerolls make up for spending actions for Qi'ra or Cargo Chute, which in turn help him trigger Trick Shot; and Qi'ra enables making the most of Slave One by opening up the places you can safely land and/or still shoot from.
Falcon and Fangs went 5-0 at a trial near me today - back tomorrow for top 8
Our local gaming store had a Hyperspace tournament this weekend. I finished second, went 3-1, lost to Rebel Y's with Vet TG and Saw in a U wing with Leia. I dont like the efficiency of Ion VTG Y's, but what are you going to do?
Combined that with white K turn Leia, yeah.... Making her 2 points was a mistake in my books.
This is what I ran.
| Fenn Rau — Fang Fighter | 68 |
| Outmaneuver | 6 |
| Ship Total: 74 | |
| Half Points: 37 Threshold: 2 | |
| Old Teroch — Fang Fighter | 56 |
| Fearless | 3 |
| Ship Total: 59 | |
| Half Points: 30 Threshold: 2 | |
| Lando Calrissian (Scum) (Escape Craft) — Escape Craft | 29 |
| Tactical Officer | 2 |
| Ship Total: 31 | |
| Half Points: 16 Threshold: 2 | |
| Captain Seevor — Mining Guild TIE Fighter | 30 |
| Ship Total: 30 | |
|
Half Points: 15 Threshold: 2 Total 194 |

Seevor did great as a blocker, his ability sometimes helped him not be a target. I have been flying Outmanoeuvre Fenn for a while now, it is probably my favourite X Wing ship so far.
I was surprised at Teroch, in my last game he was able to one shot L’ulo L’ampar with a combination of his token denial ability, Fearless for changing a die to a hit and a focus to a hit. My opponent didn't roll any evades and it was a 4 hit kill. Lando was great for doing what the Pod does, keep it out of trouble and coordinate, cant go wrong. I think i only lost him in one game.

To be fair, that sounds like a particularly hard matchup. Every list has potential weak pairings, but Fenn/Teroch + Support seem vulnerable to ion turrets, VTG, and Leia in particular. Fang aces want to be range one and want to tank through single attacks to the face, and then they want to either chase or disengage - that's a hard list to do those things against.

Edited by Scott Pilgrim2Honestly, I feel like Veteran Turret Gunner should go back to 8 points, and Bliz should just design a new 4 point gunner... say... Expert Turret Gunner who only works with double-end turret attacks. 6 point VTG is still going to be overpriced on something like a YT-1300, but 6 points seems like it's clearly too cheap on Y-Wings, Scurrgs, and Starfortresses. The price for double-tap in the same arc should be different for opposite-arc cleaves.
Scum certainly did not represent at the Redmond, WA Hyperspace qualifier last weekend. Only three out of 74 squads, and the highest ranked was at #32.
So looking so far at Hyperspace Trials results across the world we can safely assume that Scum was totally overnerfed
As I predicted
Like in 20-30 Hyperspace Trials Scum has hit the tops… once? (Han/Fenn/Terry) twice? (but cant find second one

Out of how many showings, though?
I'm pretty sure Scum are fine. Nobody is actually bothering to bring them.

Scum in HS are maybe a little prone to inconsistency? So they're fine, everything is fine now, thank you... But for the HS trials, people are either not bringing them because consistency issues, or they are and have been bitten by them.
But they're otherwise fine.
