Q: When Does The Old World Deck "Run Out"

By player377182, in Chaos in the Old World

The guys I've been playing with have always assumed (I know, I know) that this occurs when there are no more Old World Cards to flip over (i.e. none left to place in space "1").

However a new player joining us felt this the deck "ran out" when the last Old World Card was moved from the "2 " space to the discard pile.

Anyone?

The Old world deck has run out when there are no more face-down cards in the old world deck. The 1 and 2 slots of the old world TRACK have nothing to do with that. Come End Phase, when you check for game end, if there are no more face down cards in the old world deck, you have a game end scenario.

So, for a four player game you have 7 cards in the Old World Deck (I thought I'd clarify that in case you missed it)

The deck has run out when all 7 cards have been drawn - if Karl Franz's Decree comes up, that's only 6 turns, else 7 turns.

This doesn't trigger the end of the game until the END of the turn in which that happens

Right, you don't actually check for game end until the end of End Phase.
