App advice for newbie: best expansions? Updates?

By Bandatta, in Legends of the Alliance

Hi guys. RE the app:

- what expansions should I get to work best with it?

- does the app accommodate side quests from character expansions? If so, which ones?

- how often is the app updated with new material?

- is it worth investing in IA on the strength of solo play?

Much obliged.

Jabba's Realm and Return to Hoth enable two campaigns in the app, so they are the first to add - both also make the core (Flight of the Freedom Fighter) app campaign a different experience.

So, like for the regular campaign: big boxes first, then small-boxes, then the figure packs of your choice (mostly to replace tokens, but there are rebel allies and imperial groups that do not come in the boxed expansions).

Side missions are replaced by encounters which can grant rebel allies, credits, or other rewards. All ally packs are supported. Some have specific encounters, some allies you add can also be won from more generic encounters. (The app also supports all villain packs when appropriate - generics as generics, and unique figures when they are called for.)

The app seems to have content added once or twice a year.

You can try the app with the core box, but you will get much more play out of it if/when you add the Jabba's Realm and Return to Hoth boxes.

(There are also other ways to play solo, for example RAIV and Imperial Directive, which can be used to play the original campaign solo.)

That's great info. Thank you.

And thanks for the RAIV/ID suggestion. I wasn't aware of them.
