Empire's uneasy Squadron

By Glattyator, in X-Wing Squad Lists

List is born from the frustrations of running the Emperor's favored classic 3 ship ace lists that end up facing lists from other factions that support 4+ ships of 6+ HP. Common theme of these for me is that they appear to have solid stats and efficiently priced. Also that I have barely flown any of them yet have heard good things either on the forum or in the community. Thoughts?

A OS-1 without FCS is just a waste.

Double Edge is a bit hit or miss imo. You definitely don't need VetTurGun there, that upgrade makes Edge's ability pointless.

I'd definitely recommend looking at Kestal in the Aggressor spot, if you haven't already. Her ability won't do a lot against tanky generics but anything that likes to roll many greens with force or focus gets super nerfed by that circling turret arc.

5th Bro and Dorsal is quite a tasty, cheap load out on her, the same as that Edge build- 47. Ruthless is nice as well, if you have a worthy target, such as Viz or the Nu. Having 3 other ships in your list can help keep her from being instantly squashed.

Interesting, your saying that double edge cannot attack potentially 3 times in one turn? thatd be the only reason I have a named pilot with the ship

New and improved! Appreciate the feedback @Greebwahn and @Cuz05

Ships are limited to one bonus attack, so no ship in the game can shoot three times.

Might I suggest you lose afterburners to afford Barrage Rockets for Kestal and the Concs rather than ions for the Nu?

Interestingly, I felt Barrage were a no brainer on Kestal when I had the points for them. Then I found I'd only fire them once, twice max, and they put a big target on her back. If someone sees her ability, her Brockets and decides to nuke her, nuked she gets. So I'm far more inclined to save the points and keep her a cheap, sneaky pest.

It'll come down to where you put her on the table really. I do better circling her out and then in, hanging around R1, hopefully out of enemy front arcs. Basically using the side arc almost exclusively. If you keep her slow and back at R3, you might get enough value from the Brockets.

I mean, you could ditch brockets, but give her at least ONE 3 dice weapon!

That might come up down the line with the Aggressor, personally I am keeping Aggressor and Nu at their point value until I am used to flying them (especially with Ruthless and most likely using Nu to fuel it). Afterburners on my Soontir is going to be my go to until I can fly Agg/Nu with more finesse.

I like the Conc. miss suggestion. My point of value I can see would be switching Viz for Scariff base + Tac officer #squeezing points
