A little off-topic... 10mm Star Wars!:)

Hey all!

Thought I would share the VERY start of my 10mm Hoth project... if there was an off-topic Legion forum I'd post there, but there isn't, soooo...

This is all proof-of-concept so far, but I'm generally pleased with them.

Here are some of the Imperial forces...

... and some of the Rebel forces!

For more photos and info (including about the dice frames and close ups of the heroes), please come by the blog!

I was hoping you'd do something with these. Especially after I remembered all the character figs that came in the Echo Base kit. What's Luke made from? Are they really 10mm or more like 6? I worked on these as a teenager but never finished the battle scene one.

Also. It looks like you've dedicated an entire studio basement apartment to wargaming. I approve of this allocation of resources.

They are definitely 10mms... I ordered some 6mm, and they are WAY too small. Luke is just a generic rebel with a hole drilled in the hand and some wire added as the lightsaber. I have some closeups of the characters on the blog (gotta drum up clicks somehow!:) ) I didn't know about the Echo Base kit until late, but I got it eventually!

A LOT more to do, but it works so far. Next up I want to tackle reworking my Dungeoncrawl game, and then I'll get to expanding this out with the rest of the figures I got.

I may have some I can part with. I'll dig around.

They look great!

...would enjoy a nice small scale game as this!...

At that scale you could probably paint a base or three of rebel troopers as X-Wing pilots too. Maybe use them as a special effect marker or something. Orange body, black boots, white "helmet". Good enough at that distance.

This is what I originally thought of with the announcement of "Legion."

Nice work!

i still need to track down the echo base kit.

check out the old west end games assault on hoth board game for awsome rules for playing that battle.

Interesting looks good

looks like someone left Chewie outside the blast doors overnight. He has the most rigid pose, the rest of them look cool.

Everything Legion should have been. Looks amazing!

AMT/Ertl did that with him for some reason. Same pose they used for the 25mm Jabba's Palace diorama. The Cantina one isn't much better: same pose plus one arm held at 90 degrees accepting a drink from the bartender.

I don’t think anyone here has mentioned X-Wing: Ground Assault yet, so here we go. It’s the same scale a x-wing, but with ground units. It shut down a while before Legion came out, but the rules are surprisingly similiar. Like, they are almost identical. Vehicle armor works the same, infantry come in platoons of four, suppression works much the same way, etc. All in all, might be fun, especially if tweaked for x-wing 2e.
