None Faction specific Upgrade cards.

With new factions coming out, this means new upgrade cards that are NOT faction specific.

Is Fantasy flight looking at the possibility of upgrade card packs. The upgrade pack would include NONE faction specific Upgrade cards.

From what I see None Faction specific Upgrade card are already in some factions that are not available to other factions.

Is this game headed back to v1 if I want an upgrade card I need to buy a specific faction?

I understand V2 is more balanced and seems to relay more on luck of the dice and out guessing your opponent.

I've found the issue with the way upgrades are done currently (with them being spread out evenly through a wave so everyone gets everything) that is I have 10-12 of each upgrade now, and if I buy any more ships Ill have 20, 30. Waste of cards that will never be used by me or my friends. I would support "Card Packs" that are sold separately. Remove everything except for unique things from ships packs.

Heck, I would also have supported them making TOKEN PACKS that contain 10 of each shields, energy, force, focus and evade tokens and removing them from ship packs as well. You would just buy one extra token pack and you would be set for a long while if not always. First edition left me with about 100 shield/evade/focus/crit tokens when I would only ever use like 10-12 at a time, and that's with me only owning about 20 ships... I can't imagine if I had more.

Seems like a better design choice would have been to separate everything so you just buy what you needed. Besides, the Core set gave you more of what you needed to play going forward for tokens anyway (minus enough shields). If they had just tossed in 12-15 more shield tokens and 6 more evade/focus/jam etc tokens into the core set, they wouldn't have ever needed to sell them with other ships. Whats the max number of shields/focus/evade etc you can get in a 200 point squad (or 400 in multiplayer)? Put that many in the core set. Boom, never have to add them in other ship sets at all. You could then have had token packs to get more if you ever needed them. Then move all non-specific upgrade cards to card packs and wham, the price of actual ships goes down a dollar or two since less is needed for each during manufacturing.
It would have also solved the whole target lock AA BB ZZ fiasco where we had so many target locks, it was ridiculous.

-------TLDR
Add enough tokens to the core set to play a 200 squad point game. Prob about 20 shields, 12 evades/focuses (currently it had 4 shields... really?)
Make token packs that contain 10 of every common token type if you wanted more. Remove them from ship packs.
Make generic upgrade card packs that contain 4 of all of them, Remove them from ship packs.

Of course, it's too late to make changes like this now ... so ... moot point?

This is not going to happen, FFG would lose money this way. it will be like v1. if you want a certain upgrade now, you have to buy that ship or wait until it appears in future faction expansion.

I came to the forum with this specific issue surrounding the “brilliant evasion” force upgrade. In the ffg squad building app it says that I should have it when all is in my collection is the base kit and empire conversion kit. I attached it to Vader in the app, but when I went to find the card it isn’t there. I then went online to find out that it is available in the Sith Infiltrator, Delta-7, and Guardians of the Republic expansion kits.

I specifically recall ffg material during the launch of 2.0 saying your faction will have all the cards you need, so you won’t have to go ship hunting. I hope this means that they are planning to include this card and others in an upcoming Empire expansion kit.
