It's clear that Jango was more of a Separatist than Maul ever was. Since FFG is willing to include Maul in the CIS faction, I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to include Jango.
Slave 1 Under Jango Fett

I think "Separatists" in this game clearly represents the people who were openly fighting the Republic whilst secretly being the tools of Darth Sideous. Darth Maul falls into that camp. Jango and Non-Darth Maul don't, as they were in it for themselves.
If Han can be Scum, Jango can be Separatist.
I don't think people's interpretation of lore will really come into it. The CIS will need a few large ships in the game and they don't have many to choose from. Maul wasn't a Separatist either but the Scimitar is a CIS ship in game.
Outside of the Slave 1 and the Scimitar, they don't really have many ships to choose from that are larger than a fighter sized ship. They'll need to lean on the fringe characters to fill those spots. All the fighters were tiny, the droid gunships were only 12m long (same as the Hyena), and even their shuttles were small.
Whilst small suits the faction, I can see them doing 1 large with the Scimitar, and one or two mediums with one of them being the Slave 1.
Other characters associated with the Slave like Zam and Hondo suit Scum mind you, so if it does end up being a CIS ship I think they'll need some different pilots. I want a baby Boba either way.

I bet we'll see a Punworcca 116 (Dooku's solar sailer) as a CIS large ship. It might be our only reasonable chance to get Dooku as a pilot and could fill a support role.

🤨 Due out next month. Second from left in the pilot spread. He's Init 3.

Can you imagine the PR? "Dooku's Solar Sailer with fully foldable wings", its just 8 toothpicks with some cling wrap over it 😂
On a serious note, that thing would be a nightmare to model and cast. Isn't the cockpit portion only like 12m long?

15.2m without the sail. 105.16 with the sail deployed. With or without the sail it is not a large based ship...

Yeah I tend to agree.
It would be interesting, I don't see why the Separatists should not have access to the Firespray through Jango Fet. Then again I am still a proponent for the return of the Imperial Firespray and Empire version of Boba Fet. Hey we still haven't received the shuttle Tydirium for the Rebels.
Oh well, we still have this (however it doesn't allow for Rebel Lambdas)

could be an interesting mechanic to have a ship that changes base size. All you would have to do is place the 1 straight template and move the model from one base to the other, give it a different dial and wollah.

LOLZ if you think that FFG's X-Wing is going to differentiate between Trade Federation, CIS, Separatists, etc. ...
100% this.
Cuz pull Darth Maul out of the CiS if you want to be that anal retentive. He's a Sith.
In this faction there can only be two: an apprentice and a master.
Jango is CiS, and we'll see a Firespray repaint.

Young Han is Scum because what the heck else could he be? I don't think that's my evidence for lore not mattering.

Jango is a Bounty Hunter, that's Scum pure and simple. And yes, we will see a Firespray repaint.

Yes,
YOUNG
Han is Scum. Just like
RIGHT NEAR THE END OF HIS LIFE
Jango is Separatist. Would a younger Jango, before he buddied up with Dooku, be Scum? Sure, but we never see that Jango on screen, just like we never saw younger Scum Han on screen until
Solo
.
The Jango we see works with Zam Wessel to assassinate a high-profile Republic Senator, defends Dooku's interests on Kamino wherein he engages Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi twice, and assists Dooku and his Separatist forces at Geonosis, wherein he dies in battle against the Jedi.
THAT
Jango is clearly Separatists, and it's the only Jango we see and as such is the only Jango we'll likely get in the game. And the good news is that this Jango's ship does not yet exist in the Separatist faction, giving it a reason to exist in X-Wing, whereas it'd be much harder to make the case for a redundant repaint and a few new pilots for the Scum Firespray.

He does that stuff cos he's been contracted to do so, just like Vader hired Boba. If FFG were using that logic we'd still have Imperial Boba.
He's getting a considerable fee, remember.
Oh bloody **** it doesn't matter what lore reasons you twist yourself into a hernia over, for FFG's sales a 2nd Firespray in Scum makes bugger all sense, a Firespray in Separatists makes loads of sense. End of.

Hired for one job =/= on payroll for a period of time at least long enough for Boba to hit age ~13 or however old he is in Ep II.
TCW Bounty Hunters (if they appear) will probably be CIS if for no other reason than Scum has enough ships and FFG most likely wants to flesh out the factions. It's not like the Empire is short ships.

Not necessarily. 1E had Aces and Veterans sets that were repaints and new content. 2E shouldn't need to do that for fixes, but they may still do it just to get the repaints out.

Nooooo way. Arguments can be made for a couple, but Hondo best be Scum.
For that matter, maybe he could be in a Rebel Squad so long as Ezra is 😂
((I don’t know why I’m arguing this way. I have no Scum, and I’m planning on buying into CIS. It’d be way easier on my wallet to play the Clone Wars era Scum as part of the Separatists 😜 ))
Edited by SpiderManaThe case for Jango Fett in the Separists or/ CIS faction is simple. On Obi-Wan Kenobi pilot card you can see the depiction of the scene from Attack of the Clones where after Jango figures out Obi-Wan was following him he hides and tries to eliminate the Jedi Master to no avail. At this time he is working for Darth Tyrannus and Count Dooku both of whom were aligned with the Confederation of Independent Systems (Dooku being the one controlling the Viceroy for Tryannus/Sideous)
This type of foreshadowing has already occurred in second edition (see the N-1 card art) and numerous times in first edition.

The more I think about it, the more I think Hondo needs to be his own faction.

Are we really trying to say that the guy who is trying to assassinate political leaders isn't on the side of the people he works for? If he's a bounty hunter, why is he exclusively doing the work of a loyal spy throughout the film? I'm no expert, but wouldn't trying to kill a senator make you public enemy number 1 pretty much anywhere in the world? If your main job is travelling around and hunting bounties, wouldn't making yourself the enemy of the galactic government be the fastest way to get yourself arrested or killed? Yeah if you squint at it a little it kinda looks like bounty hunter work, but for the most part he's doing things that you would only trust to someone who is a die-hard believer. If he got caught, what was stopping him from spilling the beans? a paycheck isn't gonna cut it, once he realizes he can't spend it in jail.
To help illustrate my point, I'm gonna just outline the difference between what Boba does in Empire, and what Jango does in Attack of the Clones. Boba was a bounty hunter accepting a job from the galactic government to hunt a bounty. Jango agreed to be an assassin for a nation that was preparing to go to war with another nation, essentially picking a side in a battle between the two. He is discovered, and as his employers are surrounded and attacked, Jango makes no effort to flee, knowing full well that he's about to fight an army of soldiers just as good as he is led by space wizards with laser swords, and his only backup is crumby droids.
Don't get me wrong, Jango is a bounty hunter. He is Scum. But I can't help but feel like the case for him being on the CIS is just as strong, since we can only base this on lore interpretations.
