I agree that cloaking can easily break this game variant, but tossed on a Cloaking Device if you want to get an idea why (swap out for Contraband Cybernetics after you do or if you'd rather not have Cloaking in the variant). That being said, Lets Mosh!

My go at making a squirelly little T-65 that should be semi-durable with ok-ish offense. Just leave S-Foils closed and focus-boost-evade every day of the week, open them only when truly necessary.

Use the inherent abilities to get ahead, Prox Mine and Bombardier are because stuff and Shield Upgrade is because more stuff.

I love coming up with something different so here goes:

Rebel Scout (HWK290) - 33

Jyn Erso - 2

Engine Upgrade - 2

Moldy Crow - 18

Proton Bombs - 5

Hangs back a little to get those focus tokens stacked, then hits hard. Might be too slow and dial might not help on sharper turns but it would be fun.

I gotta talk to my x-wing group about doing some mario kart, it is an amazing variant and I've waited too long to try it.

We had a game last week only a few of us though (4) and let's just say we banned outmaneuver for next time 😂 3 of us had it and it came into effect on every attack. Was great fun though and will definitely be doing it again, maybe with a couple more people. Probably won't be doing more then 6 people as it took 1-2 hours for one lap with 4.

It's more or less auto-include (unless being Arvel), as much as Afterburners or Cloak/illegal Cloak would have been, if you'd allowed them.

The problem is, where to stop banning. E.g. banning Cloak and Slam, while all native boost ships are still in. So huge advantage for the pilot taking boost ships.

One possible solution is using stock racers, like J-bot from Shuttle Tydirium did for their Mario Kart (all being Z95s with different outfits, some outfits illegal according to core rules, same way as certain 2nd ed quickbuilds, all balanced against each other). Takes a bit of the listbuilding fun out of the game, but makes the field much more even.

Hey, I want to run this at my club. Can I ask if there is a set of rules for v2 x-wing out there?

That's incredibly similar to our rule set. Pretty sure I based mine heavily on it. Might be @heychadwick , since I'm pretty sure he was a Mario Kart pioneer?

That wasn't us and I more talked about things. Someone else invented it. My co-hosts did a lot of work. J-bot, especially worked on it a lot, but also @Biff did a lot of work. I'm not sure if we updated to 2.0 yet. Biff caprobably give a link to our holodrive with our rules (too hard on my phone).

We had set tracks and set places for packages. We ended up having cards bases on first place, last place, and everyone else. That made it better.

I will say that some of our beat races have been in the "Stock Class" series. Take any ship, but usually a Z-95. It was everyone got 5 pts to spend and there are no rules for number of Talents or Mods you could have. So, take 10 pts in 2.0 and take as many Talents as you want....or Mods. Had a ban list that includes Slam and Cloak as they just broke the game.

Oh, also, Lt. Kestal is often overlooked for Mario Kart. Her ability with an Ion Cannon Turret is just crazy good. Ionize is bad in the race, but at the wrong time can turn into you losing! Was able to repeatedly ionize a Stealth Soontir Fel.

I created that particular document, but I definitely took ideas from @heychadwick and others on here and u/AyBB8 , u/ DieMilkweed , u/BeerSmurf, u/Merman_Pops and others on reddit.

That's one thing I love about MKXW: it puts emphasis on a whole different set of pilots and upgrades.
