Touching/firing and overlapping/rolling. 2 questions from a starter

By supergaazz, in X-Wing

Dears,

Today I have played my first game of x-wing 2.0 resulting in two questions.

1. When my ship is touching ship A, I can’t attack it. But is it possible to shoot at ship B which I’m not touching and in range 1-3, while at the same time I’m touching ship A?

2. Let’s say I finish my manoeuvre in the middle of an asteroid, so my ship is standing in the centre of it. I throw an attack die to see if I take damage. My question relates to the next round: I plan my move and activate. Do I need to throw once again an attack die, seen the fact that the path leaving the asteroid once again goes over it?

thx

Yes and yes (because your template for taking off of the asteroid still passes over it. Otherwise you wouldnt). Also, remember the sub forum for rules!!!

Don't worry about it. It's refreshing to see someone actually talking about playing the game on the main forum for once!

But yes, the answers are yes and yes. Touching bases only prevents you from firing at the ship you're touching (corner case upgrades/pilots aside).

And if any part of your template overlaps an obstacle during activation - even if your starting position was on the obstacle - it's roll a dice and skip your action time.

Thank you for your swift answers. We had a discussion during play, but now it’s confirmed that we played correctly.

I dont see it as wrong... Just recomended it because perhaps there would be more and faster answers... Sometimes. Glad to help any fellow player, like a lot of members had helped me here.

Hello!

Just wondering: was this any different in XWing 1.0? Or has it always been like that?

Yes. That has remained unchanged.
