Even that lists it as a noun though. As in "Han Solo would have paid off Jabba had it not been for the overcost of the payment"
ATST and Airspeeder still extremely overcosted

not when they die faster than 60 points of Rebel troopers in cover with Dodge

Bruh...
A quick evaluation of the recently revealed pilot cards makes me believe they will be the only options to take, making both Wiess and Wedge not worth taking.
For the ATST, the loss of Wiess means less dice for attacking. The average per die goes up, but less are rolled. Still not worthy of its points.
For the T47, yes it has survivability issues, so the Outer Rim Speeder Jockey will help it survive a bit longer. But its damage output still remains woefully low for a 175+ unit so it's still weak for its points.
Both will still be unused in competitive play.

My regular opponents always have dumped the whole squad into it. I guess it guarantees pushing through cover 1 and a couple of aim tokens give a decent chance of critical hits.
As for language, this could be interesting for considering what a 'real' word is.

5 grenades and a flamer, no cover for you ![]()

Sorry, looking back it looks like I was being short. I was rushing out the house to teach English language of all things...
Well, our first big local tournament was won by spammy list, but second place was taken by rebel with t47 (and second only because that player was also participating in armada tournament and after that he joined at the start of round 2). On second tournament there were 2 lists with at st, one of them made it to the top 3 while other was in the top half. Its not LVO but minor events in Poland (there is no love from ffg to us, europe so no maximum firepower and such) but still there were list with those expensive units in them and they did well.
Its not about the stats. Sure in terms of damage they might be overcosted. But they have resilence, at st provides mobile cover for troopers (!!!) and they HAVE psychological effect on players that face them. We cant compare 2 things that fill diffrent roles. For some of us they might be unplayable, but some players (myself included) can find them usefull in their style of play. Its not like there is just one way to play certain faction ![]()
Yup, I think people here really underestimate the "oh ****, AT-ST" factor. It draws a lot of fire from other units just because it's there.

Only the uninformed shoot at the AT-ST. "He means no harm, he just wants to play." Experienced players kill offensive potential. If you bring a unit nobody expects, there is usually a chance to wrongfoot your opponent. So going against "the meta" has intrinsic value. But this doesn`'t happen with the AT-ST because it is so overpriced. FFG dropped the ball.
They (FFG) said it before, but I’ll reiterate it here. Not everything needs to be competitive.
If weve learned anything its that FFG is paying attention and fixes problems in time. It would surprise me to see changes to both vehicles eventually.

That requires the Rebel unit to go first (not likely if there are multiple trooper units targets to choose from), armor is always on automatically.
Armor is superior defense.

My favorite purveyor of reenacting goods is in Poland. I will ship you Legion stuff for a trade!

"Board" is a real word. It's a noun even. It's still annoying when larpers refuse to use the word "shield" ever under any circumstances whatsoever. They have to say "board" instead to show how gaming-hip they are.
One of the things that really turned me off a certain wargame was how no one would actually use the names of units as written. They only used sarcastic nicknames for everything. Just to prove they're all such funny people with such awesome comedic skills.
I feel like "costed" is about proving we're all such technical minded people with amazing insight into statistics.
Real words or not, all the pointless jargon gets old fast. It's like we're trying to live up to the gamer stereotype, this relentless use of jargon should come with pocket protectors and such.

People do all kinds of things to establish an identity, through controlling things like clothes, music and their lexicon. Some people juggle geese.
Not that this makes is any less annoying for us.
Especially if you're a gosling.

In my head I'm repeating the mantra 'I'm a leaf on the wind' every time a DLT shoots at my T47...
It's more effective than rolling white defense dice.

And experienced at st players will put it right in your face so you HAVE to deal with it or you cant reach objectives or risk getting squads exposed.

I like using the grenade launcher and deleting or at least seriously crippling a unit in one round.

mortar launcher? How do you get into range turn 1?

The AT-ST is so close though. Having this and the T-47 be 20pts cheaper wasn't going to kill anyone.

Ita not that hard but dependa on deployment to be honest. And speed 2 move with its huge base is long

It’s range 4+, you can be in range by default.
Sounds like the Grenade launcher and mortar are getting mixed up
