Old Starwars Rebellion Ship Classes

By Stinchy, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi, Thought i would just do a quick video of all the ship classes from the Pc game starwars Rebellion ( Or Supremacy in Uk).

There were some great ships in that game, it is an utter shame some of them cant be made for Armada.

Nice overview of a sentimental favourite!

The Liberator class is one that would be a really cool addition. And I donโ€™t even play rebels. Dauntless is pretty cool too.

Most of the others are a bit meh. Especially some of those imperial ones.

Agreed, but would add the Assault Frigate as cool looking.

Mel has several of these models up on his shapeways and some of the cards can be found on KDY.

This is a nice coincidence,

Yesterday I had an Armada game cancelled with my friend due to his work, so instead I began to play Rebellion after a loooong time :)

yeah, well apart from OT stuff I really dont like the Imperial additions in the game ( except Interdictor)

I wish the game had Z-95s, it would be very nice

It is a shame they cant make a modern version of the game. But somehow they would probably ruin it.

I easily put over 100 hours into many games of Rebellion. ๐Ÿ˜€

Its the reason i bought the board game.

Saaame. I have a copy on my work computer that I keep running on very slow in the background.

They've done it already. It's called Empire at War.

On the bright side, we've got MC30, AF mk2 and Victories thanks to that game. I mean, I know these were in some other sources/unused material, but game definitely made them more popular.

I agree empire at war brought us some great ships and is still a great game.... but it is definitely not a remake of Star Wars rebellion ๐Ÿ˜€ .

EAW was an attempt to remake it; same basic style (galactic conquest in a campaign - gather resources, conquer plants, build structures, build fleets, "agents" to carry out missions). Its weakness (like most similar games) is that it tried to be 3 different games (campaign, space, ground) but didn't have the time/budget/space to do any one of them properly.

I'm not a huge fan of any of the ships it introduced (AFMkII, Broadside Cruiser, Tartan Cruiser - even the MC30) - certainly in contrast with the Rebellion ones (Liberator, Dauntless, CCs - some of which are now canon!). I'd rather EaW and FFG had gone with them rather than using new ones.

I don't think a game like Rebellion is likely to happen again. I guess a campaign-only Mobile version might work, but it's hard to see how it would fit in the current EA trend of microtransactions, room for DLC, mostly multi-player, and playable on console.

It would be nice to see some of these ships in Armada, but I imagine that may be complicated by licensing and modelling problems.

but needed a lot of gentlemen agreements and RebEd changes to have satisfying play human vs human.

Then, it was a blast ๐Ÿ™‚

And somewhow I think we are not done with those ships. Correlian gunship ticks a lot of boxes imho, if I had to bet I would bet on her to show up. The strike cruiser I think was relatively small, but wouldnt it contrast well with that other dedicated medium battle ship the Empire has?

Stellaris on the pc is supposed to be a great galactic simulator game, and has Star Wars mods. I love Paradox games but havenโ€™t got around to trying this yet.

Something similar but full Star Wars would be awesome.

If only for completely omitting the diplomacy options that Rebellion had.
