Passive sensors is intriguing, it's REALLY nice for TIE/x1s and /v1s, especially Inquisitors. Seriously, like... a way to get your locks in the opening round? Amazing.

I love that the Passive Sensor upgrade shows a picture of a TIE/FO, but they can't take the card... Would have been nice on Midnight to either get a target lock on another I6 that moved after them.

Passive sensors sounds nice for braylen.

Looking back Wave IV announcement article, Passive Sensors appears in the spread for the Naboo fighter as well as the Hyena bomber. Seems not to be in the B-Wing or TIE/sf packs, which appear to have only reprints of existing cards.

(Also that Decimator seems to have a mottled paint job...)

Their reference is that Fenn Rau already can shoot 6 red APTs. His ability doesn't specify primary attack, just attack.

To be fair, that outsider speculation involved an extremely unlikely prediction that Nikk called out specifically as not going to happen. I agreed with that sentiment, in part because the idea of shooting past R3 violates core mechanics and introduces tons of problems. It’s not like he gave us a verbatim quote for an ability that no one could actually read (like Fenn Rau of old).

That’s the one situation that I’m still a bit uncomfortable with. It feels like FFG is going back on their promise of “no cards only available out of faction.”

For old factions, it’s just reprints with all the conversion kit contents.

At least in wave 3 all but one thing leaked showed up to be faction-locked anyway (the spare parts “recharge your astromech or drop an obstacle and break locks” card is the one exception, and we’ve seen it in the resistance transport of wave 4).

The fact the decimator has conversion kit cards from the scum conversion kit (000 and bt1) has me cautiously optimistic that wave 5 may have ways to introduce these new wave 4 cards to old faction, but who knows? It may not happen.

I get it. “Folks will be angry if they have to rebuy a ship for cards.” Well, they’re doing it for the decimator in wave 4. And they may be doing it anyway if they have to buy a ship out of faction that they play. I know that I personally would rather buy a flappy Bwing I don’t need but at least could in theory fly in my squad and get passive sensors that way. I’m not going to buy the hyena bomber or n1 because I’m not buying new factions.

And they have been doing so well with Legion and not locking someone out of generic cards too ..... why mess it up over here in xwing?
