Hello everyone.

My gaming group and I recently played our first game of Rogue Trader. We're playing through "Into the Maw" from the core book currently, and we plan to move onto "Lure of the Expanse" once we're finished. I was thinking of using this thread as a sort of 'write up' for the campaign.

Here's the crew.

Rogue Trader Aphesius Yorke

Yorke is the Grandson of one of the Expanses most infamous Rogue Traders, Archibold Yorke (Renowned Warrant Talent). Who was one of the first explorers to traverse "The Maw". Unfortunately for the Yorke Dynasty, Aphesius' father was a cowardly man, and squandered the families fortunes on selfish desires. After his "convenient" removal, the Warrant passed to Aphesius, who is determined to see his families honor, and wealth restored. No matter the cost.

Seneschal Remi Holt

Remi is the childhood friend of Aphesius, as well as (unbeknown to both of them) his half brother. The Illegitimate son of Aphesius' cowardly father and Lady Holt, who was the daughter of a wealthy trade family. His mother died shortly after childbirth, and he was raised communally by his House. Seen as an outcast he took refuge in his Friendship with Aphesius, and the two have been friends and business parters ever since. If he were to discover who his true father was...well something bad might happen.

Arch-Militant Winter Faye

Faye is a strong and capable woman of noble decent. Her family line possesses a strong connection to the Warp, and as such her house secrets many mutants and rogue psykers. A Wyrdling herself, Winter possesses formidible telekenetic powers, and has joined the crew of Aphesius Yorke after he discovered her dark secret.

Explorator Tristan Godwinne

A young adept of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Tristan has been sent to accompany Yorke by his order. He has been charged with retrieving what Archeotech he can find and returning it to Mars. However, Tristan is a radical of sorts, and plans on keeping the ancient technology for himself. His dedication to his own mission is unwavering. His dedication to Yorke however...well that waits to be seen.

Navigator Artemis Fletcher (NPC)

An aging man, of the Nomads Houses. He has offered his services to Yorke because of his adventurous spirit. He is a wise man who is looked up to by the rest of the crew as the 'grandfather' figure.

Astropath Transcendent Lady Fellon (NPC)

A sanctioned Psyker of incredible beauty. Requested by the Yorke family for the journey into the Expanse. Little is know about this mysterious beautiful women by the rest of the crew, but she certainly has the attention of Remi Holt.

Void-Master 'Joker' Green (NPC) Kudos to anyone who gets this

A charasmatic and generally friendly man. 'Joker' was an ace Imperial Navy Pilot, who went AWOL after his battlegroup was destroyed by Hive Fleet Secondus. He got his nickname for his unpredictable, but effective tactics.

We plan on expanding on the NPC characters more as the campaign and the PC's relationships with them start to get more complex.

So we started on "Into the Maw, Part 1; Riddle of the Righteous Path" The Pc's met with a servant of the Yorke dynasty who had been waiting for them for over 100 years. He gave them the Astropathic mnemolith, and the PC's duked it out with the servants of a rival Rogue Trader who was also after the mnemolith. Now it's a race against time (and another Rogue Trader) to get to the Righteous Path first.

So they set off from Port Wander, the Imperium and into the unknown...Into the Maw.

Well, since my last update our Explorers have completed the "Into the Maw" introductory adventure. Scoring a MASSIVE +10 PF after they successfully recovered the plunder of the Righteous Path.

We all had a great time, and would like to recommend this adventure for any other groups who are taking there first steps into the Expanse. It proved to be an interesting little escapade where each of the characters was given their time to shine, and it was also an excellent platform for us to get our heads around the rules. And your players will feel awesome at the end, as there's more than enough xp for a rank up. So they get to feel like their advancing along.

So now our group (after purchasing Lure of the Void this week) are chasing after the legendary treasure planet "The Dread Pearl". Our first session went rather well I think, as only 2 of the PC's became horrible mutated abominations. So far so good.
