No it doesn't, as after you perform it's action, this crit is already repaired so its effect is no longer in play.

With all due respect to all the streamers out there, I usually find at least one decent mistake that goes over both players and the host's heads when I watch them.

Indeed, Wounded Pilot triggers after you perform an action. After you perform the Wounded Pilot action, you check to see if you have any WOunded Pilot crits to give you a stress, and (assumign you don't have another one), you don't take a stress, because you don't have any crits.
