The squadron packs look like a great way to inject a bunch of cards into factions line of products.
So do you think we will see the currently faction limited generics in squadron packs?
What kind of squadron packs do you do you want to see?

I think we'll get a similar Rebel Aces pack with A and B wings. They'd be stupid not to sell a Battle of Scarif pack with K2 and Blue Squadron etc. The question is probably more of a when rather than of an if
I am hoping they do this and this is where we get Carnor for Imperials, if he isn't slated to fly another ship. I think the game needs varied pilot abilities more than pilots with high Int. 1ed had you fly the top pilot, or the bottom generic, everything else seemed to be a waste, I hope it doesn't creep into 2ed

I'd liketo see Carnor and others again too. in 1.0 the mid tier pilots were often the best ones: Lt. Blount, Chewbacca, Sunny Bounder, Jess Pava, etc... all saw more play than many of their higher P.S. collegues.
2.0 mostly took those choices away by reducing the number of pilots per a ship, which makes no sense

All four of these pilots are still in 2.0, so...?

I didnt say they werent. context matters.
In 2.0 there are far fewer pilots to choose from for most ships, and many of the coolest pilots in the game werent brought into 2.0 at all or had their role changed, which is kinda what the OP was posting about

I would like to see this, too. It'd be nice for the Rebels to be able to get some additional A-Wing pilots (maybe even I5 or I6?) and iconic pilot/crew like K2SO or General Merrick. It would also be a great way to introduce the many upgrade cards and chits that Rebel or Imp only players are missing out on (e.g. no Ion Cloud obstacles or upgrades like Composure, Agile Gunner, Perceptive Shot, Brilliant Evasion, and the many others that appear present in Wave 3 and Wave 4).
But here's the question... if that was planned to happen, why not release those sooner rather than later? For instance, instead of making a B-Wing reprint with nothing new, why not make the Squadron Pack that has 2x A-Wings and 1x B-Wing with some new pilots and upgrades? Newer players could buy this for hyperspace legal A-Wing/B-Wing content, and they could pick up a conversion kit for additional (read classic) A-Wing and B-Wing pilot options. Alternatively, 1.0ers who already converted could buy this pack for more A-Wing and B-Wing pilots. For instance, 6x A-Wings seems fun, but double Conversion Kits only lets you fly at most 4... so those Rebels who converted with two packs could pick up the new AAB squadron pack and be able to fly 6x A-Wings, for instance.
It just seems like it'd make much more sense to release squadron packs before re-releasing all of the 1.0 stuff into 2.0, since they'd have more immediate sales rather than these 2.0 Converted packs that have minimal appeal to the Conversion Kit players.

This. This is why they’re rereleasing content first.
New players get the same stuff we have from converting, not less or different; we don’t have to be upset that new releases include cards we want when we don’t want to buy another ship model we already have.

Bingo!
also my guess is they want the hyper space format to grow a bit slower.
i could see a rebels themed pack with a red blade wing and Phoenix squad a wings.
I could see a resistance pack based on the new tv show
It will be intresting to see if they hold true to their “you won’t need to re buy ships” given b-wing and decomator appear to have new upgrades.

Somewhere down the line if they do do a squadron pack like you say, it is still buying models you already have/don't need though isn't it? I feel like the only way to circumvent this is with a campaign box similar to Armada which is Cardboard only or a card pack (also card board only) FFG is kinda in a lose lose situation if I am not mistaken?

There is a lot of room in the campaign pack space though when you think about it. I mean you have 3 different eras so that kind of multiplies your options by 3 right out of the gate if you want to differentiate. Then you have options between Competitive options (similar to Armada's Correlian Campaign), or Co-operative (similar to X-wings fan made HotAC). Not only that you could have have multiple season pack options for the co-op options adding new missions and options. It wouldn't be a lot different than board games like Pandemic Legacy with multiple seasons with new content. It's not only an elegant way to release newer options a certain era's faction is missing (along with new pilots), but it also makes sense for it to include the new terrain types as well (since it's likely to have to campaign specific terrain anyways).

No they don't.
So long as everything is available within a few waves of each other it’s fine.
They said there would likely be some generic cards that are limited to specific faction products but only for a wave or two untill they have a good in faction ship to give out the generic.
