Star Wars: Outer Rim

By JJH_BATMAN, in X-Wing

Looks interesting.

Huh. That game goc Doc Aphra....

I'm unlikely to pull the trigger since I've already got Firefly sitting on the shelf collecting dust. I would probably enjoy it, but my play groups don't share the same opinion.

Can only be good, it has the respectable businessman Hondo Ohnaka

I'm not sure I can play a game where Han Solo looks like an Alfred E. Neuman that finally hit puberty.

For you, I make a deal.

milk milk milk milk milk milk milk

Cheaper and quicker than Rebellion, so that's good.

I mean there are a few companies that have the SW license I gaming. FFG and EA.

One has created a diverse stable of options with rigorous (perhaps even aggressive) content releases in order to capture a wide spectrum of gaming time and dollars.

The other has created two loot box infested mediocrities and only chased a single style, ignoring all other genre offerings, in order to extract the maximum dollars from minimum effort focusing on the most commercially successful but also most competitive genre, or creating poor mobile knock off games.

If EA were running the way FFG has with the license, we would have a new TIE fighter game now, some revival of Dark Forces, and a true KotOR 3. How nefarious!

The game has x-wing compatible dice...

This looks like fun. I'll snag it.

You reminded me of this little gem:

Ooo, if the number of hits/crits is actually the same I might use these for X-Wing 😜

I don't know what the odds are of me actually buying this one, but.

Hit the Read More. It has the dice shown and says they are fully compatible.

No idea if we're get defense dice, but attack dice are clearly shown.

I seriously can't say how much that it isn't a $100+ mini heavy game is appealing to me right now.

The older I get the harder it is to get any game to the table. I'll probably pass on this since my friends don't care about Star Wars and I see no single player option.

I've managed to avoid most new FFG Star Wars content; I DO invest heavily in X-wing because I love it, and I like/ran/played the FFG RPG but haven't been buying new books because I haven't been running a game.

I'll likely pick this up because:
1. It feels like Firefly, except Star Wars, so... duh.
2. It's not locked at two players, like Rebellion. AND it plays single player, which is a nice option.
3. You're not locked into playing as The Falcon.
4. If it does/plays well, expansions could open the game up further.

ONE to four players! :D

I was about to say they hahaha.

I was on the fence until I saw the golden dice that are fully compatible with X-Wing... defense Dice would be nice as well but I suppose I can keep flying my Ghost and not worry about rolling those.

I can't wait to see more of the ships in the game.
