Two kimogilas with friends

Hi.

Do you have any suggestions or comments on this list? It is based on two kimogilas.

It's really too simple to say much about it on paper. Its rather light on mods, but I'd need to see it on the table. its squishiness concerns me too

i like your list, but if you want a bit more firepower, you can switch out Dalan with a generic and upgrade to 2 Scurrgs

I feel like the kimo is in a weird spot now. It has a white reload action and numerous slots. But the main reload target just got a points increase.

The ship ability is good as well as the pilot abilities, I understand the usage of expert handling. In the end it will come down to your ability to force bullseye.

Forcing this with the ion cannon turrets may work.

So on paper it seems you made a solid squad. Don't know how it would play out on the table

🤨 Is it that each is only rolling 1 green base? It's still 34 hp for an opponent to chew through.

In the original list, I feel like I'd bump the Y-Wing Crack Shots up to Expert Handling (Y-Wings don't love stress, and Crack Shot seems meh... primary only on 2 reds...), but seems fine. Basic jousty list. Should hit decently hard.

Another option with the same basic ships would be to swap the named Kimogilas for generics, and switch one Y-Wing to Drea Renthal. The list would feel pretty similar, but with less bullseye reliance. If you're all pointing at the same target, everyone would be getting rerolls due to Drea's ability. Maybe that's better than the extra bullseye effects of the named Kimos, maybe it isn't.

There's a nifty trick with Torani Kulda when she's got Cluster Missiles--she can trigger her ability twice. Whether that's worth it, maybe, but it's cute.

If it procs both times thats 2 extra damage on a ship if it had no tokens. Pretty dang good for chewing into swarms or chipping a large base. :)

I've got this build "ready to test" but never found the squad that it fits in nicely. Torani with Clusters and R3 Astromech (for double TL) is only 58 pts - that looks very efficient.

With Ion Cannons to help you line up bullseye shots and Dead To Rights to make them really hurt, I find myself wondering about proton rockets...

Nice catch about Torani Kulda with Cluster Missiles. That's a pretty tasty side effect. Between Dalan and Torani you could realistically peel three damage off a target without even shooting at it....

Kimo is kinda deceptive.

It's got white reload, but it doesn't really need torps/missiles in the same way a K-Wing, Punisher, or Gunboat does. Also doesn't have high Init like Wedge or Thane for maxed out Proton Torpedo attacks.

But on the other hand, they seem like decent efficiency jousters. 1 point more than a B-Wing or an X-Wing, with 9 HP and a ship ability perk. Fewer and worse movement actions, but the dial is reasonable. To an extent, the weird spot of the kimo is the weird spot of the efficiency jouster. But you can certainly do worse for 45 points than an Init 3 ship with 3 reds, 9 HP, Crack Shot stacked with Dead to Rights.

Scurrg H-6 Bomber is a nice idea! Will try the y-wing with ions first, hope it will help me force bullseye. On paper this looks allright, but Im not sure whether this will work on the table.
Torani Kulda with clusters allso is a really nice idea!


I have a hard time making a new squad after the "cost change", not happy with any of my setups.... so the plan now is to test something new 🙂

I'm pretty sure Veteran Turret Gunner is the most overused card in this forum this month.

If you can't usefully mod those attacks you're getting poor value from those points.

In the spirit of trying new things! Looking at a 4 ship squad to at least have the total HP to endure a good fight, TBH I tried to get the Scurrg (a fleeting love in 1.0) in however the base scurrg is the equivalent cost of a my modded Hired Gun Y-wing.

I built this list to be all about the arcs. Fang and Kimo initiate joust, while the Ys follow protecting flank/constant shooting and Drea giving reroll mods to the other 3 ships
