First order for tonight

By IgotTargetlocked, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey ppl

I wanna try this out, What do u think?

A bitt beefier and more defensive QD, Miss Glitterstim and the Action machine Tavson, with Snoke and navigator for them "Oh u think u gona go there?" Then i will block or follow.

Lieutenant Tavson — Upsilon-Class Command Shuttle 62
Pattern Analyzer 5
Supreme Leader Snoke 13
Seasoned Navigator 5
Ship Total: 85
Half Points: 43 Threshold: 6
“Quickdraw” — TIE/SF Fighter 45
Elusive 3
Pattern Analyzer 5
Special Forces Gunner 10
Shield Upgrade 6
Ship Total: 69
Half Points: 35 Threshold: 4
Commander Malarus — TIE/FO Fighter 41
Fanatical 2
Ship Total: 43
Half Points: 22 Threshold: 2

Thoughts:

  1. Commander Malarus
    1. I'm not sure exactly what Malarus is for - her ability gives you unlimited focus results, so Fanatical becomes pointless until you've run out of charges. I find Elusive, by comparison, makes her ridiculously tough - being one of the only ships in the game able to stack 3 green dice, focus-to-evade modification, blank-to-evade modification AND a defensive reroll.
    2. If I wanted an additional ship as filler I'd either spend an extra point or two to field "Midnight" or if I was happy flying a stressed TIE/fo, downgrade her to "Scorch" with a comparatively lavish equipment loadout (Advanced Optics is good with Fanatical)
  2. "Quickdraw"
    1. Not much to say. Pattern Analyser to unlock the red bits of the dial (letting her keep Elusive topped up), Specfor Gunner for the third attack die, Elusive and Shield Upgrade for (hopefully) an extra bonus attack.
    2. The only thing I'd want on her is Fire Control System to let her modify both shots.
  3. Lieutenant Tavson
    1. Tavson's ability is good and almost always a justifiable upgrade over a 'stock' Upsilon.
    2. Snoke.....is a bit so-so. Quickdraw and Malarus are both high initiative (so are likely to move after an opponent anyway) and don't have much repositioning ability regardless. So the only ship really benefitting from the ability to react to the information Snoke gives you is Tavson himself.
    3. Seasoned Navigator does let you change direction and pattern analyser does let you still focus, so I guess it's good for keeping the Upsilon's primary guns lined up, but you're investing a lot of points in doing so - that combination of upgrades is 23 points all-up.
    4. Don't get me wrong, it's a tasty trick, but if I was doing that I'd probably reach for manoeuvrable-but-low-initiative ships as wingmen to help out - Seinar-Jaemus Engineers, for example, can use Autothrusters to react to information Snoke reveals, and you're not then paying for high Initiative that you no longer need.

Thanks for that feedback

Im gona try it out tonight. Giving "Frueiline Glitterstim" Elusive instead.

If i drop down to scorch i will give Tavsson a collition detector aswell.

wish me luck! I havent flown a Upsi in years

Pattern Analyzer and Tavson dont go together. If he is stressed, that is just saying "Time to shoot me, my awesome ability is turned off"

Collision Detector probably a better buy for Tavson than Pattern. If flying with pattern AND seasoned navigator, then Muse would be a good wingmate for Tavson to get rid of that stress so his ability is always active.

Good luck!

Thanks

Im rethinking what i should do with tavson, Puting allmost half my list into him was a misstake

Got my "röv" Handed to me yesterday. By 3 t-70 , Numb, Asty , Wexly So

Next list i will try will be

Tavson

Collsion Detector

Hull uppgrade

Advanced optics

Preceptive Copilot

83 Points

Quickdraw

Elusive

Shilde Upgrade

Pattern analyzer

Special forces gunner

69 Points

Scorch

Trick Shot ( Perhaps fanatical but i find that with my debri placmement its eazy to get a trickshot off, )

Advanced optics

41 Points

This gives me 7 points for bid or the option to put collison detector on Quickdraw.

What do u ppl think?

What range? Trick Shots are presumably rarely range 1, but if you find yourself shooting at range 3, then consider Longshot instead - after all, you don't want Scorch stressed and heading towards debris...

hmm, Longshot with 4 dice trough a debri, with atleast 1 Focus or targetlock

I like it!

Not to be that guy, but you just said putting almost half your list into Tavson was a mistake... and the next list you're flying is doing exactly the same thing.

Get rid of Hull, Optics, PerCop on Tavson.

Take QD (Fanatical, SFGunner), Scorch (Fanatical), Longshot (Trick Shot).

If you REALLY like CD on Tavson, keep it, but I like Phasma more.

These 4 ships make up what is probably one of the strongest mini-swarm archetypes for FO, upgrades to taste.

General advice: Don't approach this like 1.0. Fluff upgrades hurt you more than your opponent, especially if it means you're bringing less ships.
