Dash/Han Roark axing?

By Croste, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Did the Int 7 double tap get axed? I don't see any rules updates. Rumor from the local play group is it did.

Wow... I went there first and glanced right over it....

Note: this is an amendment to the prior ruling from October 3rd, 2018]

That's why I glanced over it. I thought it was the old rule, not updated.

What about 4 koiogran turn over obstacle (Outrider - Dash ) ? Do i get to do an action ?

Yes, as long as you're not parked on an asteroid at the end of the K-Turn. The stress from the K-turn is removed by Outrider because you executed the maneuver through the obstacle. Dash prevents any of the negative effects from the obstacle itself.

Actually, you still get the action, even if your 4-K lands you square on top of an asteroid. The effect of skipping your Perform Action Step is caused by moving over/onto an asteroid, NOT by merely being on an asteroid. And since Dash ignores obstacles while he moves, and the Outrider title lets him remove a red (or orange) token after the move... the action is still 100% available.

Note that you still (normally) can't shoot while on an asteroid... but that's a different question entirely. :D

I added in an additional timing window for that it seems... As for the shooting part... Lets not resurrect that old Qi'ra argument, that was worse than sticking a fist into a hornets' nest.

So what about parking on the obstacles? How to resolve them correctly?

Skipping your action is a result of moving across the asteroid, so you still take your action, and could use it to barrel roll off the asteroid.

Being on an asteroid is what stops you shooting, so if you stay on the asteroid, you can't shoot.

Unless you have Qi'ra on board, who has the asteroid loc... wait, @Hiemfire , put down that lightsaber... 😨

Personally I prefer tactically placed thermal detonators or simply shooting someone in the head with a disruptor pistol. Searing someone to pieces with a plasma club is barbaric... 😋

We're on the same side of the Qi'ra argument btw.

Outer Rim Pioneer is something I've seen folks use to get around this.
