AI/solo available for Armada?

By 1mikethebuilder1, in Star Wars: Armada

Hi folks, always wanted to get into Armada but I know finding players can be tough. X Wing has Heroes of the Aturi Cluster. Is there any AI/solo variant for Armada? Thanks

Not that I know of, But I recommend Vassal and Tabletop stimulator. If it's hard to find folks to play you can play Online, there is alot of us that do and we are more then happy to help you learn the interface and whatnot.

I think someone did an AI system, I just never tried it... first glance it looked like what you'd expect from adapting the mechanics from HotAC.

I've never seen an AI system that was remotely rigorous (ie, didn't boil down to "do your best to maneuver the other guy well"). Part of the difficulty with an Armada AI boils down to the incredibly, incredibly large variance in possible maneuvers with the maneuver tool. The SSD, which is super limited in its maneuvering, has all these options:

That's not to say it *couldn't* be done, of course. Just that it's not remotely as straightforward as HotAC's AI (at least according to my understanding; I don't play X-Wing but read through the rules for HotAC when we looked into this a while back).

This has been a WIP since the dawn of Armada. There was an update last year. Check it out if you are interested.

Moving forward I'll be making solo/AI a requirement for any games I may be getting into in the future. I'm loving the app for Descent. Haven't tried Imperial Assault yet but looking forward to it.

I've tried to work out a system, but found it difficult.

I made a battle report on here a while back which has some details of what I did. I was inspired by HotAC in x-wing to try making an AI for a homebrewed campaign but decided to go with using a GM. I have another bat rep for testing that one and fun with some friends. Hoping to try out again soon.

Ive played on TTS I quite like it on there as I cant always get out for a game. Have played 4 games so far on there and having had any issues.
