Miss "Anchovies" Rodriguez - Deck Help

By hanssaunders, in KeyForge

Morning, all.

Here's a link to my [only] deck. I'm curious as to what other players might think of it, and any strategies you might have in mind...

There's quite a heavy focus on creatures, obviously, and one of the more pressing strategies is to have damaged Brobnar dudes so that you can use the Obelisk to keep your opponent from forging keys. Another combo seems to be using Three Fates to off Truebaru (and anyone else unlucky enough to be on the board, I guess) to gain some aember.

The deck struggles a bit with stunning and board-wipes, but I'm not altogether convinced it's as bad as the ADHD rating would have me believe. Played properly, you can get a lot of reaping and healing done in single turns with all them critters. Not to mention the Remiel synergy and first turn Ember Imp.

Go by SAS over ADHD, an 89 is nothing to frown at.

All kinds of fun synergies here. Sanctum reaps and heals your creatures if they get too close to death and Dis Guardian Demon helps transfer damage onto as many different Brobnar creatures as possible to pump that Iron Obelisk up.

With all the damage on your creatures Coward’s End becomes a great board wiper.

I’d call it an “engine deck”in that it looks like it needs some setup but once you get it rolling (can be hard to do) it is hard to stop.

Thanks! I agree with you on the "engine" aspect. It does take some building; but once built, this thing gets MEAN. It will definitely have a satisfying construction to it on that end.

I am not sure how good you're wanting the deck to be. I could see this being a strong deck locally, but I don't think it is a deck that is worth taking to any level above that.

Most of your ADHD rating is negative, but your Board rating is well above average, which is enough to overcome those other ratings in my mind. ADHD also fails to account for combos, and you have some pretty nice ones. Though I don't think Truebaru and Three Fates makes my list, because 2 cards for 3 amber doesn't seem that great to me. Hebe and Iron Obelisk with high creature count definitely makes it though.

Your main problem is the one you already called out, which is your weakness to board wipes. Bumpsy x3 and Shaffles are really your only cards that can affect your opponents amber count with an empty board. With your below average amber and efficiency rating, recovering from an empty board might take you too long. I could see your Dis overcoming this weakness. With Control the Weak x2, and Gongoozle x2 you can delay your opponents board wipes. If that fails then ember imp x2 and shaffles might be the key to slowing your opponent down enough for you to recover.

I wouldn't count out any deck with creeping oblivion. Pay attention to what your opponent's deck is doing and you can break some powerful combos (especially if they have something like Witch of the Eye or Reverse Time).

As far as oblivions go, it's in my bottom three... 😀 As far as cards go, it's so good I am not above using Mimicry to copy it so I can purge it out of my opponent's deck.

I generally use Creeping Oblivion on my own cards to thin the deck down to the most powerful ones. There are exceptions of course, as always.
