Resistance/First Order Intro Game

By Magnus Grendel, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hopefully getting a first try with the Resistance/First Order tonight, along with a friend who's just getting back into X-wing for 2nd edition.

Lists I'm going to try - aiming for relatively simple ones, with both sides bringing a squadron of rookie cadets and their instructors:

  • Blue Squadron
    • Jessika Pava
      • BB Astromech
      • Advanced Optics
      • Integrated S-Foils
    • Blue Squadron Rookie x 3
      • BB Astromech
      • Integrated S-Foils

  • Epsilon Squadron
    • "Muse"
      • Fanatical
      • Pattern Analyser
      • Hull Upgrade
    • "Null"
      • Advanced Optics
      • Afterburners
    • Epsilon Squadron Cadet x 4

Null lost his talent slot.

Good Catch, thanks

I feel like if I'm going Fanatical, I'd rather have Hull than Shield Upgrade.

Ended up going for maximum simplicity due to an abnormally high proportion of blood in my opponent's caffeine-circulation system.

  • "Null"
  • 6 x Epsilon Squadron Cadet

  • 4 x Blue Squadron Rookie (Heavy Laser Cannon)

It was a good game. It reinforced my view that Bullseye arcs aren't as near as hard to get as a lot of people made out, and the T-70 is a refreshingly capable platform.

That said, some bad positioning and choices by my opponent led to the TIEs being "fed" two T-70s before the other two could get in on the action.

Whilst "Null" has just copped a range 3 shot and undergone spontaneous existence failure despite an evade token, the spot the 6 cadets are all diverging from previously contained an T-70 which found itself (briefly) in the mother of all crossfires.
