Mate! Ewing's have gotten cheaper so who knows if they are good now but we will find out soon. Defenders are cheaper aswell not by as much but they are beasts! V-19 all depends on the point cost as if it costs 10 points then it would be incredible (it won't but that's not the point ;) ) I love these ships aswell and this game has completely changed with the patch as not only has Ewing's gotten cheaper but large bases are cheaper which means it will be easier for Corrans ability to trigger and therefore increasing his value.

Hope this doesn't sound negative just trying to say anything can happen after a points adjustment 👌

Off course there are synergies, but if I wanted to play these types of lists, I would fly Rebels. Jedi interceptors are Basically a-wings, and Plos ability makes for an escorting A-wing instead of zipping around, which to me seems like a boring A-wing to fly. But im just dissapointed because I really like Plo Koon and this ability does nothing for the kind of gameplay I like.

He's sad because he wants to fly Plo. Not becasue it's impossible for him to find other pilots who fit his playstyle.

I will also second the disappointment in Plo's ability. At least Obi can use his own ability, Plo can't even do that. My hope is that Plo is cheap like Tali, making his real ability being an I5 Jedi with 2 Force.

Returning to the point discussion earlier I could see Poo being in the 49 to 52 range. Obi being 52 to 55, and Mace 54 to 57. Saesee will probably be close to Plo.

Why are you valuing Mace over Obi in that spread? I feel like force regen is good, but the devs have been valuing support abilities that offer extra focus tokens like Obi's pretty highly. Since they sit at even force and initiative values, I'd guess that Obi would be priced a point or two above Mace, possibly more going off of how certain pilots were costed at launch. The regen is good, but is it better than netting extra focus?

I look at Obi's ability as basically upgrading a Force token to a Focus. But how much better is a Focus token? Would you rather have a Focus or 2 Force? My instinct is the latter because of flexibility and how Force hungry these fighters will be. So the upgrade is worth something less than a free Force token. Also, you can only get the upgrade after you spend a Focus. Like the Force each additional Focus you have to spend in a round is worth less than the previous one (you can't keep excess Focus etc...).

Mace on the other hand gets a free Force at no cost, it's just conditional on performing a red maneuver. One thing in its favor though is you usually do red maneuvers after an attack run when you were more likely to spend more Force, reducing the chance the free token is wasted.

So the question is what's worth more? The upgrade of a Force to Focus after one is spent? Or a free Force conditional on a red maneuver? I feel like it's probably the latter, but not by much. There is a reason my ranges for them overlap, I could easily imagine them being the same price or only a point or two apart.

Please let the I5's with Calibrated and Brilliant Evasion come in at like 50 (+/- 3). I think they're going to need more than just 3 Jedi to work, get like Axe in there for support or something

Poles are being trolled by FFG, the distributor was as suprised as the rest of us by this revelation coming long after PS4 Mace went to the printers.

Seriously though, the Grand Inquisitor is 56 with nothing...gonna guess they start mid 50s without upgrades.

And he only has two force charges as well. He's probably still a couple of points overcosted, though. A consistent FFG would put Mace and Obi-wan at 60ish points, but personally I'd drop the Grand to 52 or so, and have the Jedi at 56.

Obi-Wan can also help support teammates, though. Yes, if you use him constantly he'll run out of Force quickly, but if you use it wisely, that can be a big benefit.

What about this then... you move with Plo knowing the enemy will use supernatural powers to dodge your arc and no shot will be made, then anakin on little health moves in and takes a weapons disabled token to Regen a shield with his beloved R2 astromech. Anakin Target locks onto the enemy ship and your opponent laughs with pride as he chuckles "you cannot shoot", then as the engagement phase starts Plo reaches out to the force and uses his universe given ability to pull anakins orange token off the chosen ones ship and onto yourself allowing him to shoot and deal a crushing blow to the unexpected defenceless target and defeat the enemy.

PS. Thought I'd have some fun 😉

Plo also works with tractor beams so if a quad barrel rolls a friend you can take it then you get to do a free boost/ barrel roll and save a ship from 1 less agility. I know Plo isn't the best ability but it could be clutch if cheap enough and worth his cost.

Taking a look from a different perspective - between Plo and Mace, haven't we postulated as the community to introduce some better separation of good pilot abilities from high initiative?

Plo is I5 but has a mediocre ability.

Mace has a nice ability but is only I4.

Nice, now none of them is an auto-include!

Indeed. Now some abilities have initiative-based pricing it very much helps you not just go for the first choice.

He's probably the best carrier for that talent now, considering he has low(ish) initiative, 3 force tokens, can set up great turnarounds, and gets a token back after moving. It's going to be interesting to see his cost.

Seems like Reps and Seps have a lot of I4s rather than 5s/6s (looking at clones and droids).

Hopefully they'll not be playing this whole "race to the bottom" thing that the other 5 seem stuck in.

Then again, that probably seals the deal for most I4s in the other factions ever acting as competitive "aces". Those factions will just keep using their I5s to beat up on the newbie factions.
