Boba and The future

I am warming up to the idea of running Boba With Maul crew. A force token means having a mod each turn. It Also frees up the action for either a total of two mods, or repisition. I feel it adds valuable flexibility.

After the point adjustment, two generic Scurrgs looks like a good option to run With Boba. Boba With only Maul will give enough Points for two double tap Dorsal turret Scurrgs.

Maul is an interesting choice. I'd be curious to try something like this out:

Boba may have gone up six points, but his nemesis the Proton Torpedo also became more expensive, so he's probably just as relevant as he ever was.

Dont forget that Boba Also has access to 0p Jamming beam. Having the chance to strip target lock before they can Fire ordnance is nothing to sneeze at.

I've only flown Maul Boba (Debris Gambit, Slave 1) once, but I kinda liked him.

I was flying Boba for a while and had been exploring other options, but I like this new Boba. I hadn’t really considered Maul before but it makes a lot of sense now after seeing where the points fell.

I'm all about that Perceptive Copilot Slave One Boba. Though, the new price makes Koshka more appealing as a Boba-lite, a fraction of the pilot initiative/ability but a more considerable discount.

Haven't found the best wingmates for hyperspace yet. Before, Tac Officer Lando + Fenn were great; with new points, that leaves you with either next to no bid or next to no upgrades. You can drop to Old Teroch and/or L3-37, which I'm keen to try as soon as new-points-gotta-try-everything-in-extended fever wears off. Could also try just Boba + 2x Skulls, which feels like it might struggle against some Res/FO matchups but has potential if the meta shakes out with less of an I5/6 bias writ large.

I've also only just started toying with Mining Guild TIEs, but maybe Boba + miniswarm has potential?

Boba is still great and will be a staple after this, he is just closer to his actual value, but his ability and chassis is just so superior.

And to be honest slave one is cool but I’m not sure it’s still better the marauder? Predator a two point upgrade for the whole back arc medium base size soulds plenty worth its points

Only problem i found, is that the cost of 11 for Maul makes it hard to fit wingmen. And how important is having a title. Slave1 is Nice for 2p.

I think your original idea of two matched, aggressive generics at 45-50 points each is a sound one. Two Scurrgs, two StarVipers or possibly two Fangs all seem okay to me. I'm also curious if the cost increase to Proton Torpedoes and the decrease to Afterburners might make Talonbane Cobra more interesting. Not entirely sure which talent fits him best, but it's tempting to try Composure (which also got a decrease) for those sweet double modded five dice, and occasional barrel roll insurance.

I was playing around with Boba/Guri, but I think I’ll try this.

I will Also try two vipers. But i am really intrigued by Scurrgs after the Points adjustment.

Fits with Swarm Tactics Teroch and a Zealous Recruit but only just. Doesn't leave room for anything else on Boba though and that new cost on the Slave 1 title is very nice.

It's been a few days now.

Who has tested the new Boba sufficiently and can say something about the Future Boba?
