Y bring an E-wing?

So with the love the Ewing and the Ywings got with the price drops I wanted to give these guys a try. The idea is to try to maximize dark lighters ability

My concern is with the dorsal turrets only range 2. So I built a second list to try to combat that.

let me know what you guys think.

Both seem kind of fun, but I'd do small two things slightly differently.

In List 1 (Gold), I'd swap Evaan Verlaine for a Gold Vet, and use the two points for FCS on Gavin. I love Evaan as a character, but I don't think her pilot ability really adds much in this list.

In List 2 (Grey), it looks like a typo/misclick to have one Agile Gunner instead of a 3rd Veteran Turret Gunner. Again, I'd use the two points for FCS on Gavin.

Well... FCS or Crack Shot. Probably FCS.

That was a typo. Fixed it in the post above., I'll see what I can fit for those freed up points.

For list one, I can't help but think about how Gavin's torpedo could be turned into R4 astros and expert handling on the Y-Wings. I know it leaves Gavin pretty barebones, but it helps to add some solid maneuverability to the rest of the list.

I just can't decide which one feels more viable. I feel like this list wants to really get in close as much as possible to hopefully get its shots out.

I had been kicking around a Gavin list with 2 Z's and 2 X's few weeks ago, but the points change lets me change to the rugged double tapping Y.

My two biggest concerns are keeping Gavin alive long enough to make him worthwhile and getting the Y's in close where their double taps can get those devastating crits though.

My solution was keep Gavin cheap make the Y's a little more mobile. I thought Gavin can hang back at range 3 to give the widest arc possible for the Y's targets. With R4 and Expert Handling's white barrel roll, the Y's can be surprisingly maneuverable to either block or get overlapping shots.

Oops, was looking at two different lists I was working on so edited so as to be less than 201 points. Heh heh.

I found Elusive, FCS, and R3 to work very well on the E-wings.

The following might be a good variant on your original.

Could be fun! With Elusive Gavin has a little more defense, swarm tactics makes everyone attack at I4.

That does looks like a good list as well. I would probably go with AP-5 over the attack shuttle, one thing I found when I ran the list below yesterday was action economy was tight and it was tough to get modified shots off.

I lost with the list below vs A defender and 2 inquisitor list. If it wasn't for some bad die rolls I could have likely won. What I did take away from this is that the afterburners on the Y-wings were really effective. That extra nudge in the maneuverability opened up many of the dorsal turret shots I wouldn't have otherwise been able to take.

I get what you are trying to do with Darklighter, but I keep thinking that Horn could really benefit with some Ion Control:

Y-wings get a target ion'd and then Corran swoops in and gives it a nice double tap. I went with a bid for Corran, but you could add afterburners or collision detector if you want. I dunno, could be fun.
