Has any stores received the season 4 prize kit? Also, do you think we will get fancy kits for this game? Like Legion and X-wing are?

I do not believe any stores have the season 4 kit.
As for the kit contents they are what they are and they have gotten better recently IMHO. That said I think Armada had the best Regionals kit of any game although last years was a bit better with the Range Rulers. Store Championship kits have been pretty decent as well.
Remember stores have to pay for the kits so the more/better stuff in the kit the more out of pocket expense for the store. The more they pay the more (most stores) will charge as an entry fee to cover their cost. Around here most folks don't go to tournaments for the prizes, they go to get 3 games in so keeping the entry fee reasonable ($5-$10) for seasonal kits, ($10-$15) for Store Championships, and ($20-$25) for regionals is important.
The store that I TO at has a great deal in that all fees collected over the cost of the kit are added to the prize pool in the form of Store Credit. As a TO that is a huge draw, for Regionals I was able to split up $300+ between the top 3 and their "Smoking Boots" award (usually the lowest ranked player that sticks around all the way to the end). Most players will take the store credit over an alt art card any day.
I am also a TO at the store I frequent. Agreed playing 3 games is definitely better then prizes. We do store credit based on attendance. Some people do like the cards around here at least. The reason I ask is because if FFG doesn't include Armada in the new kits and new op model I fear we are headed towards a land enduring.
I was at the Stockport UK Regional last weekend and I think the TO there said they had got hold of their Season 4 kit.
I want and hope we get the premium tournament packs. we will probably find out for sure in the next few months, but always uncertain the future is.

This is true, but FFG sets the price of the kit for the retailer. The biggest factor in determining what can go into a kit at a particular price point is FFG's own profit margin goals. I refuse to believe FFG is selling these kits at-cost, so the contents of the kits could improve without an increased cost to retailers or players if FFG were willing to take less of a profit on them, for instance.
In my opinion, both the quality and quantity of prizes in kits (especially quarterly kits) has decreased over the past five years. Those first two years of quarterly kits in X-Wing were pretty awesome, and generally had double the acrylic tokens of recent kits (to say nothing of the "extra" prizes like dice bags, deck boxes, etc.).

I don't even think that's an opinion mate, I'm pretty sure that's fact. Didn't the kits used to include metal coins dicebags, posters and as well as the alt art cards and tokens?
Nah man, quarterly Kit quality has definitely taken a downward turn, they've just been resourceful in hiding it with double sided cards and such.
The cost has been significantly reduced too, both outright and shipping.
Now, I’m not sure it’s an equal “value for money” curve, but certainly, as contents went down, so did the cost...
Edited by DrasnightaFor a quarterly kit now, I (through my store) pay $20 CAD.
Without any personal infrastructure, I know i couldn’t make a kit of the quality it is for less than $20...
So it’s still value “for me”, but I can see how people with different opportunities could believe otherwise.

I could be wrong, but haven't Quarterly Kits been $20 usd since X-Wing's first "Game Night" seasonal kits back in 2013? That's the impressive I've had from the stores I've TOed (when they talk about "how many players we'll need at $5 entries to "break even""), but then I've never actually done the order forms so I dunno for sure. I know for a fact back in like 2014/2015 a quarterly kit was $20 usd, because a local "gaming club" ordered some for me directly so that I could host them.
Shipping costs I cannot speak to, but I know the recent kits are packaged in much smaller boxes now.

I was paying upwards of $35 CAD originally, with the cost steadily going down... Again, CAD, so maybe the (former) Canadian distributor had something to do with it... I’ve been blessed with the fact my ordering FLGS is “the largest general gaming store in the world”, so postage for me hasn’t been an issue, but I have compatriots in Edmonton who had that as an issue for theirs.
And I’ve only ever paid “at cost” to the Sentry Box, without markup there.
Edited by DrasnightaI don't know the actual current price USD of quarterly kits. If anyone does, they could settle it. If it's still $20 usd, then I don't think the cost of quarterly kits has changed at all. I can ask my FLGS owner sometime soon if no one else knows off hand. But I've certainly been under the impression stateside that the kits have always been the same price.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if, stateside, they haven’t...
Im in mixed minds on the Asmodee changeover, but the distributor change for Canada has had SOME positives...
