Organized Play Article
So no more "Hyperspace" naming convention. That's good, I think this makes everything more clear.
I wouldn't say that yet. This article is for all games, not just X-wing.
It's entirely possible that X-wing keeps Stores - Hyperspace Trials - Hyperspace Cups - System Opens* - Worlds instead of Store - Regional - National - Continental - Worlds. It would still be the exact same outline, just name-adjusted for X-wing.
edit: * though they mention explicitly that System opens are outside that structure.

On the FB post, the Alex who is handling FFGOP says that X-wing is changing to this as well.

He’s answering questions & responding down in the Comments.
The important ones, by Alex:
- all kits in current circulation will keep their names. The future kits will use the new naming structure.
- I am going to make changes in this role and I feel the naming convention for X-Wing was not clear. As such we are looking to change and improve things in the future.
- the current kits are unchanged and will be run how they are. So they will Be Hyperspace game mode.
In before the usual malingerer's. I see this as a good sign, they're refining the system. That they're doing this this quickly tells me they're paying attention.
THISPLEASESMEGREATLY.
What a solid x wing week.
It will be interesting to see if they incorporate this GEM software into the X-Wing Squadbuilder or come up with some other app...

GEM sounds like it's for OP's use, not players
@svelok If it is the competitive tracking part of the Keyforge app then players can see the stats but I think that the stats have to be reported via some type of form or other software.
Good but I remain confused.

The event structure is getting another update along with some form of official software for tracking it seems to be the summation.
No mention about offering OP in Asia or S.America, so I guess that wont be happening soon.
This is a better naming system than the recent one it is replacing. The Event Names are dead, long live the Event Names! I am most pleased about the return of Store Championships.
So basically anything that was refered to as Hyperspace Cups/Trials will move over/back to Regionals/Nationals (now called Prime/Grand/Contenental), while still exclusively using Hyperspace rules. So-
Competitive playing style A: Store Championships-> Prime Championship (Winner)-> Grand Championship (Top 4)-> Continental Championship (Top 8)-> Worlds. If you are in the bracketed number, you get an invite to Worlds.
Competitive playing style B: System Open Series (Top 8)-> Worlds. If you get to the Top 8 at a SO, you get a Worlds invite.

Looks pretty accurate me

Still would be good for x-wing if the GEM system and the app were compatible.
Not only the tournament data of lists (which factions, pilots, upgrades are appearing in the field in which percentage, how many swiss/cut, top8/4/win) are interesting, but also what people play around with. If people often play around with and save lists with pilot R, or squad flying styling S, but R or S never appear in tournaments, or do'nt get far, then that's some indication of people would like to play R or S, but R or S in the current meta is not viable.
If GEM and the app are incompatiple, developers would need to look into 2 different datasets from different sources with maybe different data formats...question if they have the time for this effort.

Seeing as how FFG appears to be more responsive and communicative, maybe there's hope that the app will be either fixed or replaced.
**Crosses fingers**
But what about no generic B-Wings in No Glory format? That's the real issue here AMIRITE?!!!
