Sort of palp aces...

By N'Kata, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have been trying to make some sort of Palp aces list that includes a defender for a while now. This is my latest try, what do you experienced listbuilders think?

TIE/sk Striker - •“Duchess” - 53
•“Duchess” - Urbane Ace (42)
Predator (2)
•Fifth Brother (9)

TIE Reaper - •Captain Feroph - 58
•Captain Feroph - Imperial Courier (47)
•Emperor Palpatine (11)

TIE/D Defender - •Rexler Brath - 87
•Rexler Brath - Onyx Leader (82)
Juke (5)
Jamming Beam (0)

Total: 198/200

Since she's a touch flimsy, and her ability really supports her doing red moves, consider Elusive on the Duchess. That way, you get a defensive reroll plus a force token when looping (normally a vulnerable moment), and you don't lose your ailerons if you do.

Feroph is fast and tough - he's a much better VIP ride than a lambda, even if you are stuck with a red co-ordinate.

I really dig it as is. Balanced, versatile. Bravo

Thanks for your replays! I will must certainly experiment with Elusive, and see whether I like Predator or Elusive the most. In my opinion it is a choice between a defensive oriented Duchess, and a more offensive oriented Duchess. With only four hull, defense may be more important than offence. Another alternative I really liked was to put Juke on her, but sadly I would be one point short...

I have been looking a bit into Vizier as an alternative to Feroph, giving me that white co-ordinate. However, Vizier is not as tough as Feroph, and I guess I would have to fly him even more carefully than Feroph. I am not even sure if co-ordinate is so important in this list after all. Sure Rexler loves a lock, but often it will be better just to focus or jam with Feroph.

Reminder, Duchess can use her ailerons regardless of stress in 2.0. The reason for Elusive is still valid on the Reroll however.

That's what "you don't lose your ailerons if you do" was meant to mean - duchess - unlike other strikers - comes out of a loop or turn without her ailerons jammed up. Plus, it means she can pull a stupidly tight speed 1 koiogran if she so desires.
