Literally All the (Scum, I6) Aces

By HealOverTime, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Since all three of them fit into a list with some extra wiggle room at the moment I wanted to try it out.

Customized YT-1300 Light Freighter - •Han Solo - 61
•Han Solo - The Corellian Kid (54)
Trick Shot (2)
•Qi’ra (2)
•Tobias Beckett (2)
•Greedo (1)

JumpMaster 5000 - •Dengar - 69
•Dengar - Vengeful Corellian (58)
Fearless (3) EDIT: doesn't work due to arc rules
Punishing One (8)

Fang Fighter - •Fenn Rau - 70
•Fenn Rau - Skull Leader (68)
Predator (2)

Total: 200/200

What do you think? Can cheap upgrades and no bid be any good?

I’m not sure Fearless works on Dengar, due to his primary being a turret... but you could maybe give him an R4 Astromech to make his dial a bit more forgiving!

You shouldn't need a bid that much with an entirely initiative 6 squad - since you outclass any initiative 5 pilot. It'll be annoying the day you do find yourself on the wrong end of the initiative disadvantage but you're going to have to learn to live with it sooner or later because no matter what you bid, someone could outbid you, and generally an opponent will only manage 1 Initiative 6 super-ace.

Han with Trick Shot is good - getting a 4-dice shot at obscured targets. Greedo is nice on a high initiative target but changing a hit to a critical isn't that important compared to getting the hit in the first place. I'd rather spend the point on giving Fenn Fearless instead of predator, since a range 1 face-off is exactly what a protectorate fang is supposed to do.

Equally, Qi'Ra and Beckett.....I like their rules, but for the same price I could have rigged cargo chute and spontaneously 'dump' some debris exactly where I need it, which seems like an easier thing to achieve.

It doesn't.

It needs to be a Icon arc standard front primary attack, not just an attack against a target in your Icon arc standard front , like Punishing One .

Can't do it. R4 is for Small base only.

R3 might work. Since you may get a spontaneous free shot at A.N.Other target with his ability, being able to lock two different targets in your arc might suit Dengar's ability.

You'll usually want the title on Han Solo to punish anyone that has a stress.

Han (Trick Shot, Greedo)

Fenn (Predator)

Dengar (Punishing One, Predator, R5-P8)

Seems like respectable mods on all attacks, though Dengar is the obvious weak link

I keep screwing up that rule :P , to fix that list I would drop fearless and Greedo for R5-P8.

New question: can Dengar be good for 65 points or less? If so I could take the following:

-Han Solo (trick shot, Tobias, Qi'ra, cargo chute) 64pts

-Fenn Rau (fearless) 71pts

-Dengar (???) 65pts

Total: 200pts

Seasoned navigator and predator perhaps?

I'd go with the following (not necessarily because it's best, but because it'd fit my style):

  • Han Solo (Trick Shot, Greedo, Lando's Millennium Falcon) 63
  • Dengar (Punishing One) 66
  • Fenn Rau (Predator) 70
  • Total 199, bid 1

I don't like Fearless on Fenn. Concordia Faceoff helps for those times when it's unavoidable, but I'd still much rather be out-of-arc than in-arc, so I'd rather not bring a talent which requires me to be where I don't want to be. As such, I'd go with Predator. If you're willing to spend focus, it's about the same damage-added-per-point as Fearless, but encourages safe (and IMHO better) play.

With Han, my sense is that the title is kinda mandatory. Getting extra dice against stressed targets seems important to me, either for actually having more dice, or for deterring folks from taking stress. Trick Shot cheaply doubles down on Han's pilot ability, and Greedo seems like the best cheap crew/gunner to me.

Dengar without R5-P8 might be crazy. No mods on a double-tapper is kind of dubious, but on the other hand, perhaps there's a strange genius to it. Tempt folks into attacking Dengar--he's got no mods!--but he'll still be throwing more dice than if your opponent attacks someone else. I figure Dengar is the preferred "this one dies first" ship in this list.
