They're up!!!
Just now, theBitterFig said:Homing went up from 3 to 5 points. I kinda wish Ion Missiles went down to 3 to fill the gap, but I dunno. Seems fair. Homing felt like it dealt damage more reliably than it's point cost, and the cost of most ships which took it went down.
Fair. And then I gained a few points from the A's getting cheaper, I guess.
I never flew it anyways, it was just a concept for kicks. *shrug*

Oh sure, didn't mean to imply there was only one option. Those were separate thoughts.
Just thinking that if you wanted to bring BT-1, he does pair well with 0-0-0. And if you're bringing a crew carrier for Vader, all the Empire's crew carriers now have two crew slots. So you could still get Vader crew's effect, which might work better for Whisper than Vader as wingman.
4 minutes ago, theBitterFig said:I hope there are more non-turret gunners which come out in the future.
But I feel like 5th Brother is probably not too bad. Having a force token makes it easier to spend an action on a barrel roll on Whisper, and not quite as unsafe to K-Turn.
Both good points, actually. A little expansion of the Phantom's options could be good.
6 minutes ago, HolySorcerer said:This is why I was against the change, even if it makes more thematic sense. There are no usable gunners on the Phantom. They have effectively removed the slot, and along with it the Empires only small base crew carrier.
While that's a valid point, should the Phantom really have been the Empire's only small base crew carrier? It just doesn't feel right for its role as a ship within XMG to be bringing support options. And no one used the crew slot as a support, it was only ever one of two choices to directly buff the Phantom's own attacks.
Maybe they'll bring back the TIE Shuttle as a configuration card when the TIE Bomber re-releases to give Imperials a smalll base crew ship? Or maybe not every faction needs access to every tool? I don't know.
10 minutes ago, HolySorcerer said:edit: They have also removed Supernatural Reflexes from the game, making Vader, IMO, unusable.
But he got 5 points cheaper, and Afterburners got 2 points cheaper.
I think Vader got more usable, actually.
Hate seems like the best option now to give him some Force regen to protect against focus fire. We also don't know what Brilliant Evasion will cost yet. It might make up for the Advanced's lack of an evade.

Two thanks to Moldy Crow, one was trip Starfortresses thanks to Traj Sim, and uh... Did homing missiles go up a point? I'd thrown together three A's and three Z's with nothing but Homing Missiles across the board and Elusive on the A's, but never flew it. That one's at 204 now, so Idk.
Nearly all of my other lists gained 10-15 points easily

It appears that only two of my lists are now over 200, at 201 and 205. Though in my case, most of my lists were highly experimental, not necessarily finished, and by no means optimized. In other words, it's probably more of a testament to me not being able to see useful combos than lucky list-building.
😜
At least one of my lists ended up at the exact same point total despite changes, which amused me.

Yeah, in all fairness I actively avoid playing Meta builds, because they're just less fun to me, in general.
But hey with at least 9 extra points between Kanan (pilot), Maul (Crew), and Dorsal Turret, Hatin' Kanan has that much more room to become Meta! 😂
****.. super brutal on the tie punishers.. I think they went too far on those as they have effectively been killed off now for me

Edited by StriderZesseiSo here's something I just noticed:
Cheapest Y-Wing (31) + 2 (Dorsal Turret) + Veteran Turret Gunner (6) = 39
So double-tap Y-Wing is a 5-per-list ship.
Oh.
4x Sienar Specialist + VTG + choice of turret (38 or 40 points, depending on Ion or Dorsal)
Howlrunner. The reroll won't benefit the turret attack, but still. That's a lot of shots.
Okay, so I'm looking very closely at Han now.
Han with Engine Upgrade, Lando crew and Trick Shot is only 93 points. Just one point more than his previous cost naked.
That's an I6 ship with a 3 dice double arc that has very easy access to both offensive and defensive re-rolls, can potentially throw 4 dice at all ranges and can very possibly double green token stack with a big stack of health and large base boosts for repositioning.
You can still fit Agile Gunner on there for just a hair over half your list for free turret rotations if you're decent at planning. Or for the same cost you could take Jyn Erso and the title instead to get double defensive re-rolls with an okay chance of an evade and a focus.
Wow.

Yeah, I was looking at Y-Wings thinking they've low key done very well out of all this.
It's only a subtle set of adjustments, but that's a lot of potential attacks behind a lot of health. Modding the attacks is the difficult thing, but Horton might suddenly have got a lot more interesting...
Either way, if 5xY isn't your bag, it's going to be hard to argue they're not great filler ships for Rebel lists now.

Am I misssing something or did triple Brobots become a possibility?
3 minutes ago, Tvboy said:Am I misssing something or did triple Brobots become a possibility?
B/C/D with title plus the free Jam Beam.
A situation where a free Jam attack might actually do something.
Like a stressed Brobot, messing up a range 2 attack, and getting at least another go at stripping a token.
I will be trying this out on Wednesday.

On the Scum side this truck swarm is now possible:
- 4x Crymorah Goon + Dorsal + VTG
- Drea + Dorsal
= 200
Yikes!
You can also do 3 Lok Revenants, Dorsal, VTG,
Drea + Dorsal & hull upgrade
200pts
One less ship, but 1 extra dice on the main attack per ship, and a decent amount of hull and shields...

I ran Drea + triple Tugboats + triple MG-Ties and it felt far too strong.
Thanks for finding my next Drea Swarm 🤣
The article says Advanced Sensors should scale with Initiative but it doesn’t. I wonder if they got it and primed thrusters switched for either the article or PDF? Primed scaling doesn’t really make much sense honestly

I did wonder about that, as well. It scales with initiative when paired with BB's I guess?
Advanced Sensors can allow pre-movement repositions, but how many high-initiative ships have a Sensor slot?

Primed Thrusters scaling makes sense in the way that it's really hard for low-init ships to take advantage of their strengths, so giving a cheaper version to a low-init ship doesn't seem bad. Blue A-Wings with PT, for example, gained back 3 points, ready to spend on a newly-added Talent slot.
Advanced Sensors, however, are really potent at low initiative levels as well as high. If they had the prices that PT got, that'd be sick on stuff like U-Wings and Lambda Shuttles.
I'm more inclined to think it's a typo in the article.

Han gunner - whats the point. Even as a Rebel player - glad Han, Dash and Roark is dead - a boring one trick pony. But, is there any point to ever include Han Gunner at all now?

It is still an attack that fires before everyone else. Even without being able to do the double tap it still allows your ship that has him to respond to high init threats and very likely pull tokens from them before they've had a chance to shoot. It also helps set up the target for the rest of your squad to burn down.
My only wish: That the new points document showed the changes (increase or decrease). Not an issue at all, but I like to see the change.
