Please rate/review my deck

By Tenawa, in KeyForge

Hi there,

so far I have 10 decks, a friend has 3. If all those decks the following seems to be the strongest. That said, our experience with the game is still new.

Could some experienced players please review and rate my deck? Thanks in advance.

Decent Amber control, slight sub-par amber generation, and meh board control.

Epic quest is a bit of a stinker. If almost always takes more work that it is worth (6 Amber).

Overall I would rate this deck below average. You have a deck that looks like it wants to control the board but is double edged, your best board control takes away all your best board presence. Your board presence is necessary for you to get enough amber. Gateway and Spirit's in a deck that heavily creature focused is not always the best. Some games you will be able to make it work with the Arise. But more often than not I suspect you will consistency issues.

Keep in mind this is very speculative. I would encourage you play some games with it. That is the only way to be sure. I would just make sure you give the tires a good kick before you dedicate an Archon tournament to it.

Be sure you keep ahold of some delaying options when you are up against a speed deck. Things like Charette and Miasma can be really nice for delaying that one extra turn. But capture alone does not win games.

I agree with most of what @Krashwire wrote. The deck looks to work against itself in some ways.

I’d be interested to know though: what is it about this deck that makes you say it is your strongest? What do you run into when playing against this deck that gives you trouble?

At first: Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it a lot!

That said, I don't share most of your opinions (again, I could be wrong ofc).

The isn't working against itself. Most of the time the deck wipes can be played without real consequences: Dis creatures can be brought back with Arise and can be played out in the same turn. Sanctum creatures with strength 3 or more (all of them :)) can be "rescued" via Epic Quest. And to the topic of Epic Quest: it's awesome! I won more than a few games with it. It's not that hard to trigger, especially with the Reliquary that can take an artifact back on your hand (and in case of on ofe the three sanctum artifacts can be played again in the same turn).

And Shadow is soooo strong: lots of small crowd controll via damage actions and a lot of aember generation and steal effects. I am happy that there are only three shadow creatures!

In short : the deck has strong creatures (sanctum), strong aember generation / steal, insane crowd controll (deck wipes and damage effects) and an doable out of aember-generation key mechanism.

Perhaps I am totally biased. But this deck doesn't seem to have any real flaws... I played it a lot and never felt it lacking in some area.

Really... Nothing to this point. It can control almost all decks via damage or deck wipes. It has a strong creature foundation, spot and shadow self for defense. It can steal aember. To me it's a real allrounder.
