Director K and Friend

By Cubanboy, in Army Building

Hello,

I am new to Legion but I saw the Veers list and tweaked it a bit. How would this go, what should I change up?

I think you might be going overboard with upgrades. Snowtroopers go spd-1. So they don't need environmental gear. Also you need to take a heavy weapon with your strike teams.

Also Krennic has entourage death troopers so you might want to add them.

^this. You'll probably have to just get rid of one strike team to be able to afford the heavy weapon on the other

^and this. I'd drop one of the bikes or 2 stormies for some Death Troopers. I'd also drop Commanding Presence as I find it the most useless upgrade in the game especially since you already have 2 commanders.\

The above recommendations are solid, in my opinion. You might drop the environmental gear altogether, to be honest. It only saves you 2” of movement. Your speed 2 stormies will still move, just at speed 1. They’re not melee units, anyway, so if they have to slow down for terrain, just try to ensure they have cover.

The only use I’ve found for environmental gear so far is for scout troopers, especially with a demolitionist. The environmental gear can be critical to let them move through cover/area terrain to optimal bomb placement positions. Wooded areas or similar which can be difficult terrain and provide cover can help keep a saboteur alive longer while he plants bombs.

Otherwise, I haven’t found the slight speed reduction too critical.

Actually have you tried sending stormies into melee before? It's super effective IMHO when you play against rebels because when you get into melee with rebel troopers you have the advantage on attack (attack surge) and defense (red defense die). Plus you don't have to deal with the annoyance of white attack dice failing over and over and over and over again...

I was going to say that they're pretty good at melee for being "not melee units..."

There are a couple important things missing: your scout trooper strike teams MUST have a heavy weapon (either the sniper rifle or the charges).
