Hammerheads and Yavaris Bombers

By Suermel, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hey Guys,

what you think of this combo ? I love to fly with small ships. So Hammerheads go on close range combat, and the Yavaris/GR 75 / Bomber Combo will grind through everything in theire way.

AF 2 will stay a little behind an finish of whats left. Played Bail Organa first this week and loved it in combo with rieekan.

Any suggestions vor Objectives ?

Yavaris wants the flight commander a lot more than the GR75 (which can take boosted comms.) It's the difference between "Yavaris if you don't move much" and "Yavaris with Demo-like capabilities." The token is best obtained from a comms net flotilla, but Tantive IV could work in a pinch, or if you're going barebones even Hondo will set you up for 2 rounds (1 banked, 1 Hondo'ed.) Toryn Farr is worth her weight in gold, provided you can get her into the fight. The squads are in trouble against anyone who brought their own. They don't have Intel, which means they can throw 6 TIEs in on a key turn you want to be shooting a ship. Luke and Nym aren't cheap, so said TIEs may even earn their points back.

To allow a larger squad investment, the remaining suggestions are point savings: making the AFMK2A into a B is probably smart. I know you're planning to double arc, but it's 9 points more, and there are better places to put those points (Spinal Armament on an A would be better, not that that's advisable.) Dropping a Hammerhead for a comms net flotilla and Jan is also smart; it makes your squadrons a lot more reliable and survivable. Definitely get some faster squads than Keyan and Dagger. They need speed buffs to be reliable, especially as Yavaris will encourage them to move less often. Wedge is nice for multirole work, Dutch complements him and Yavaris well, Gold squadron is a consistent heavy bomber, or Norra could boost damage output. None of them need a Pelta or HMC80 to work. For objectives I'd recommend Most Wanted, Hyperspace Assault (for Yavaris + squads) and Solar Corona (unless you really grow your squad complement with speed demons, then Superior Positions is great.)

Good luck!

The Paragon title i have hardly ever gotten to work. So my suggestion is drop that and put those 5 pts you get on the bid for first player, or maybe a Turbolaser upgrade for the AF2. Also, a AF2 A is overcosted for what it does, change it to a B. Hammerheads love first player is a lesson i take with me from Nationals in Birmingham, but under Rieekan its less important. Also what @The Jabbawookie suggested, find some faster squadrons than Dagger Squadron and Keyan. Can confirm that Wedge and Dutch gets alot done with Yavaris as noted above, especially when you only have 4 squadrons in total.

I personally like Nym very much. He always put a big frown on the opponents face when his blue crit gets resolved.
