First order Upps

By IgotTargetlocked, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey ppl

ive been thinking about this build.

Lieutenant Tavson — Upsilon-Class Command Shuttle 62
Pattern Analyzer 5
Kylo Ren 11
Heavy Laser Cannon 4
Ship Total: 82
Half Points: 41 Threshold: 6
“Quickdraw” — TIE/SF Fighter 45
Juke 4
Pattern Analyzer 5
Special Forces Gunner 10
Shield Upgrade 6
Ship Total: 70
Half Points: 35 Threshold: 4
“Null” — TIE/FO Fighter 31
Squad Leader 4
Ship Total: 35

Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2

What do u think ? I know the uppsilon is struggeling, but i allso know that i can fly it faily well, Kylo giving out stress, Null giving away focuses and evades with the 7 cordinate.

and QD having 4 shildes makes her a bit more of a monster.. It should be fun to fly.

Got 13 points left to play with. What would you guys add?
perhaps uppgrading "Null" To Midnight?

I’m not sure why you have the HLC on Tavson. I get the added die from the ability but you need to roll crits to trigger Kylo’s crew. Also you mentioned Kylo giving out stress but nothing in his ability gives stress.

If you want to stick with three ships I think I would shift some points around on Tavson and for sure go with midnight.

TIE/fo Fighter - •“Midnight” - 47
•“Midnight” - Omega Leader (44)
Swarm Tactics (3)

TIE/sf Fighter - •“Quickdraw” - 73
•“Quickdraw” - Defiant Duelist (45)
Juke (4)
Fire-Control System (3)
Shield Upgrade (6)
Special Forces Gunner (10)
Pattern Analyzer (5)

Upsilon -class Shuttle - •Lieutenant Tavson - 78
•Lieutenant Tavson - Obedient Shuttle Pilot (62)
Collision Detector (5)
•Kylo Ren (11)

Total: 198/200

FWIW Upsilon is the current hottest ship in the game, and probably the best thing in the First Order faction.

Your list is kind of similar to mine but with more points invested in the Shuttle where I buy a whole 2nd TIE/fo. And also... Null to Midnight is not an upgrade, it's a sidegrade at best.

  • Quickdraw - Elusive, FCS, SF Gunner, Shield Upgrade
  • Starkiller Base Pilot - Captain Phasma, Pattern Analyser (1pt short of Tavson vs Phasma)
  • Null
  • Muse - Squad Leader

Cool! Thanks for the tip!

I look forward to flying in a quickbuild turnament. 😃 With 4 of them

Heheh

why Squadleader on Muse instead of Null? I love Null! He is that 35 points that you can lose, and it aint the world , but your opponent ( If you make he/her Work for it) Will have put in so much time into removing him, so its a very nice choise

Muse can always clear his own stress if necessary, and already wants to hang close to the Upsilon (they tend to work as a pair, certainly in early game). It frees Null up to use his I7 to actually be a TIE Fighter and an offensive threat, and it also means that if they want to start breaking up your action economy they have to target the ship that would probably otherwise be their lowest priority.

Jury's out on Phasma vs a 5pt bid. I think with only really bidding for QD's benefit that I don't need it.

How so? Midnight is great for the endgame, which I feel works well considering QD and Tavson are likely to be the first priority targets on this list. Null’s ability is great... while it’s active. It just takes one shot to make it a regular TIE FO.

Are you coming at it more from a cost-efficiency perspective?

Null + bid >>> Midnight + small bid.

To be clear: Midnight is ****. A sliver of a fraction of a shadow of what Omega Leader was.

I would tack FCS onto QD, its just TOO GOOD too pass up for her. Then, I would lose Kylo and HLC for PerCo, AdOp, and EBaffle on Tav. One focus action, double mods, extra actions can be whatever you need to stay alive or boost the team, and you can bank some token after clean up thanks to EB

I've had a fair amount of success with my FO aces build.

  • Quickdraw- Fanatical, Spec Ops Gunner
  • Midnight- Fanatical
  • Null- Squad Leader
  • Tavson

I've found midnight to be a fantastic closer, often gets ignored as people focus on QD or tavson. But still really nasty in the end game with soft focus mods. Tavson is 100% worth the points, but is fine naked, doesn't need any upgrades to make him good. And I've found if I overload him, he doesn't get enough value as people tend to focus him down. One or two solid target-locked shots are all you need to get value for him

Ohhh !! If the points hold il try it out! More guns is allways a good choise.
