Or the YT-1300 to be precise... I am new to flying Rebels and Resistance and I have managed to pick up a Falcon as part of a job lot for fairly cheap. I'm a little torn as how best to set up with it. I'm very comfortable flying X-Wings so I can work out a supporting cast for it, but I don't know how best to go in terms of the pilot. Fat Rey? Naked Rey? Han?

I've seen a handful of ideas about on the net and none of them are particularly helpful or explain why they've put an upgrade with a pilot. Would anyone be so kind as to walk me through the various options for the Falcon, what works and what doesn't? I'm thinking of flying it as Resistance over the Rebels version.

Currently in the squad builder I have the following:

Rey (105 points total)
Rey's Millennium Falcon
Finn
Rose
Inertial Dampeners

My thoughts are that Finn compliments Rey's pilot ability and if needs be, Rose can sacrifice a dice for a free lock. The title and the dampeners are just to aid my ability to out-fly my opponent, which I understand will be tricky on a large based ship but I am a pretty good pilot. As it stands I'm teaming this with my fat Poe (who I use in a few Resistance lists and is great!) but again, I'm open to running cheaper T-70s or A-Wings. Two ships for so many points seems a bit daft.

Any thoughts are helpful!

Large base in general will most likley become cheaper the 28th. So less then a week for new builds

Han with Rose, Finn, Heroic seems to be more successfull then Rey. You can add and remove finns dice for a TL or remove a die and finns blank to trigger heroic in various ways.

That said Rey with C3-P0 won a tournament here in sweden (3 ship list).

I had looked at heroic with Finn and Rose but couldn't quite work it out. You've nailed it though, love that!

How does C3PO benefit the Resistance ships? Coordinate is fairly useful but the calculate is a waste I feel, unless I've misunderstood his card?

Calculate is never a waste! Try it. I promise you’ll use those calculates.

Maybe add a T-70 Poe Damoran?

2 ship lists require no mistakes, I would recommend against it.

Think about it if you hit a asteroid or get bumped you lose half the firepower in your list and you probably lose that ship or it is crippled.

Also the falcon is NOT durable, lose 7hp to give half points, with a 1 agility ship this will happen fast.

I would suggest one of the I5 T-70’s and a I5 a-wing or 2 black squadron ace T-70 ‘s or 2 rookie T-70’s with a few upgrades.

The finn/rose/heroic combo is pretty cool.

Is it worth 6 points though? There are no other droids in the Resistance, seems a little wasteful.

Agreed; as I said, I'd potentially be running it with my "fat Poe" build, which is Poe running lots of useful upgrades.

I've played against the Falcon a few times and always managed to take it down, so I get your point completely. That's kinda why I'm asking for some good builds to try so I can run it with multiple cheaper X-Wings or A-Wings etc! And I agree on the Finn/Rose/Heroic, after @Muppetfluffer explained it to me (for I am but a simpleton...) it looks brilliant!! I think my first game will be running this combo.

C-3PO is great - 2 calculates is mostly as good as having two focus and is half the cost. On average you should roll one focus.

I like flying Han Solo with Rey Gunner flanked by Poe. Great fun and more resilient than people think. Both can arc dodge at i6. Legendary.

I think I've misunderstood his card. So he adds a calculate action to your bar (as well as a red coordinate) and then when you calculate he gives you an additional token? Therefore gaining 2 calculates for 6 points... so you have C3-PO modding two focuses and Rey modding a blank per turn. I can roll with this. (Lightbulb moment, can you tell?!!)

For what Poe can do? Yeah, totally. He's The Resistance's best pilot by far. Question is, what do you put on him? Missiles, torpedoes, cannons? Because personally, I've found a lot of success with HLC.

4-5 attack dice per turn dependant on positioning... granted, you're not scoring crits but that's not the end of the world!

My own Han/Rey build is this one - I run it with an 85ish point Poe and a small bid. Rose is so good, the only thing I would change in this is for Extended format, it is hard to look past the freelance slicer/rose combo, though that means ditching old Goldenrod.

Han is AMAZING with Heroic, Finn, and Rose, Rey is brilliant naked, but they both get better with the title and/or contra cybers. They can be wingmates, or have any number of other wingmates

I have zero issues winning with this list and their is plenty of space for play with upgrades but this is my favorite. Plus it’s an 8 point bid.

Rose for TLs, or Finn for Rey ability to trigger. No need for a Force upgrade just use them for Rey’s ability, or need to mix and match with 2 calculate tokens or a focus token.

The list I drafted was very similar to this but minus C3-PO and couple of changes on Poe. But now I understand how C3-PO works he is definitely going on my Rey Falcon list!

FINALLY, SOMEBODY ELSE THAT SEES THE LIGHT OF HLC.

I understand Meta dictates whatever has the most room for error is dominant as per Battle Rifle theory, but holy crap, HLC is SO rewarding- you can effectively fly T-70s without EVER opening your S-Foils and get SO heavily rewarded for it!
