List building help

By idjmv, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I currently own only the core set, H&V, Rebel II, the Doom Pickle and an ISD pack. What are some (relatively) good lists I could run with this small collection, and what do you recommend my next purchases be? (I'm thinking GSD and either the MC30 or the MC75)

Here is an Imperial list I made:

ISD II - 190

Darth Vader

Wulff Yularen

Gunnery Team

ECM

H9 Turbos

Avenger

VSD II - 123

Engineering Captain

Phylon Q7

Overload Pulse

Heavy Turbo Turrets

Dominator

Dengar, Boba, HowlRunner 5xTie Squad

Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost, and either Dangerous Territory or Superior Positions

Total:397

Then here is my Rebel Fleet:

MC80 AC - 185

Ackbar

Engineering Captain

ECM

Engineering Team

Enhanced Armament

Defiance

Neb-B Escort - 71

Projection Experts

Redemption

CR90 B - 55

Redundant Shields

Overload Pulse

Corran Horn, E-Wing Squadron, 4x X-Wing

Dangerous Territory, Contested Outpost, Precision Strike

Total: 400 points

Thoughts?

Depends on what you like. If you like imperial squadrons, consider the Quasar and Imp Squadron II. You can proxy upgrade cards, but it’s a great start for a solid fleet carrier fleet paired with the ISD.

Well, I am not too hard-pressed on squadrons just yet, maybe something a little better to replace the VSD.

I’m assuming you’re pretty new to the game (forgive me if I’m wrong). The VSD isn’t terrible. I’d recommend going light on upgrades to start with. You may want to do 300pt fleets early on too just to keep things simple while you get a good number of games under your belt.

Are you playing with someone of a comparable experience level? If so, this is easy. If you’re playing against more experienced players, the 400pt list is good, but try to minimize complexity. On the rebel side, for example, filling out your list with a number of CR90As with Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (Proxied) is a good way to be effective while not having to remember so many upgrades. A second CR90 is good for that sort of approach.

I will be mostly be playing against players who have played the game for some time, and are experienced. Thanks for the tips!
