Wookiees or Comandos?

By Thornoo1, in Star Wars: Legion

I’ve just stepped back into Legion after the initial game drop. So I’m just getting back up to speed with the new units.

In the escalation league I’m in I’ve just been awarded a special forces unit. Of the two currently released rebel units, in people’s opinions which is the better of the two and why?

depends on how hard you throw em

also you have 3 options. strike team and the unit. aswell as wooks

Well, one question is how many points you have to spend, as the Wookiees are rather expensive at 110 points with the Bowcaster heavy added.

But, I will say right now I sort of lean towards Wookiees over Commandos (though I have played with a full unit of Wookiees and the 2-man sniper team to pretty good effect). If you are going to play Wookiees, you have to be rather aggressive with them, getting them out where they are drawing fire from other units, can maybe take some shots with their bowcaster and then getting into melee to tear into Imperial units.

Fortunately this game is too well-balanced for us to be able to say that one is empiracally better than the other.

I like wookies, but I think the value in the Commando box makes it a better first buy, you can Fielding both a unit and a strike team with One box.

I also feel thet wookie warriors peforms best with chewbacca on the field.

Commandos and it's not even close from a competitive standpoint. Wookiees are fun, but much harder to use well and really have one way to play, Run and Smash.

Model wise, Wookiees are better as the commandos look just like the troopers

I like the commandos personally, but I also play empire...

Why not both?

Agreed. Wookies are powerful but ridiculously expensive. They're also pretty easy to cut down if they end up having to charge across the open. Snipers/commandos are great for sitting across the board and saying "I don't like you."
