Wookie Tank

By Amc879, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Here is a list I was thinking about flying to just soak some damage from an initial attack and then retaliate and regenerate health. I really like the chopper and elusive combo in theory. Haven't had a chance to test it yet but would love some feedback.

E-wing - •Gavin Darklighter - 76
•Gavin Darklighter - Bold Wingman (68)
Daredevil (3)
Fire-Control System (3)
R4 Astromech (2)

Auzituck Gunship - •Wullffwarro - 71
•Wullffwarro - Wookiee Chief (56)
Selfless (3)
Novice Technician (4)
•R2-D2 (8)

T-65 X-wing - •Thane Kyrell - 53
•Thane Kyrell - Corona Four (48)
Elusive (3)
•“Chopper” (2)
Servomotor S-foils (Closed) (0)

Total: 200/200

Hey! Nothing looks terrible as far as I can tell? I’m not sure I’d bother with Novice Technician on top of R2-D2, though. You’re mostly just doubling your odds of flipping a damage card, without too much return on that investment.

Wullf is fun, E-Wings can be a bit tough to fly well, and Thane isn’t bad.

Elusive + Chopper can be fun. I’ve only flown it once, on Ibtisam (ARC-170) along with Seasoned Navigator (fun ship build, I’d encourage you to try it out sometime). It was easier with her, since she didn’t stay stressed half the time off of red maneuvers, but being able to Chop that elusive charge for a shield is way better than refilling a defense die, when the timing works out.

jek works better with chopper+elusive than thane, with better action economy, but there is a risk you have to spend your action to fix your self inflicted damage.

I thought about elusive + chopper on Gavin but his dial looks so nice with R4 I couldnt switch them. Jek is a good idea but he is also a lower initiative. I do like the idea of being able to take an action on the same turn as a red move though.
