What do you think?

Hm, maybe take Jyn off Garven, you will be focusing more often i think and take off elusive from Gavin, don't think you will be doing red maneuvers that often. Then give both Corran and Gavin R4 Astromech for a big dial upgrade. And a 1 point bid.

E-wing - •Corran Horn - 78

Predator (2)
R4 Astromech (2)

Okay now that I am looking a little more at it maybe taking off predator and giving Corran Fire control system might be better. This way you won't be as dedicated to trying to line up the bullseye. You lose the 1 point bid so its your call.

Maybe think of flying Kyle in the HWK (with the Crow title) instead of Dreis in the ARC. It's 1 point less (at 50points), and it guarantees handing out a focus to either Ewing instead of relying on Dreis spending his focus first

Wait a week (Jan 28) and that list should sprout some spare points, maybe enough for torps or adv sensors on Corran ... ;)

I would do R3...

gochya. Do we know when wave 3 is going to be released?

Some time in the next few months, most likely towards the middle or end of March if Wave 2 is any indicator.

Here's the thing I keep thinking about with this: I don't know if this is the right pilots. Gavin Darklighter doesn't add too much. Hit-to-Crit is nice, but is he really worth the extra points over a generic E-Wing? Second, Garven Dreis doesn't excite me that much. He might be able to pass an extra focus token to an E-Wing before it defends, but that's not certain. Meanwhile, Norra Wexley is an amazing ARC-170 pilot, who is far tankier than she looks. The attacker doesn't have to be at 0-1, just any enemy ship. IIRC, one game I added like 9 evades with her ability, essentially doubling her HP.

Tinkering with the concept, here's what I'd like:

  • Norra Wexley (Intimidation, Zeb Orrelios, Tactical Scrambler) 61
  • Corran Horn (Predator, R4 Astromech) 76
  • Knave Squadron Escort (-) 61

Corran has a decent dial now. Norra loves to get into folks faces, obstruct shots, reduce agility. Forcing folks to attack her with her tanking ability protects Corran. The Knave is just fairly cheap (it could also be Wedge Antillies with a Proton Torpedo, or Jan Ors, but that's outside the premise of the list).

Been going through my duel Ewing lists that I enjoyed the most:

(63) Rogue Squadron Escort
(3) R3 Astromech
(9) Proton Torpedoes
(3) Fire-Control System
(1) Crack Shot
Points 79

(63) Rogue Squadron Escort
(3) R3 Astromech
(9) Proton Torpedoes
(3) Fire-Control System
(1) Crack Shot
Points 79

(40) Jake Farrell
(1) Crack Shot
Points 41

Total points: 199

everything at i4 is handy for keeping them close together, and Jake's ability to hand out 2 focus out (1 to each Ewing) means you can take an eva with both Ewings and have them fully tokened up for those all important first engagements.

That is a good build. I see the appeal for R3 with the torps, but have you tried using R4?

R4 allows much better dial while R3 allows multiple targets.

I would also suggest R4 bc E-wing can link a target lock to repositions, and you want to focus fire the same target anyway. If your locked target is not in arc just link your target lock as you can clear the stress without much worry.

Can Jake hand out more than one focus? I know he's phrased "You may choose A friendly ship at range 0-1". Is that an ambigulous "pick as many as you want?" kind of A, or the "pick one" kind of A?

If its the former then Jake suddenly became light years more useful.

Yeah R4 is the better droid for the Ewing, this particular list was only tried with R3 though and it makes it a lot harder for you opponent to keep a targeted ship away from the Ewings (and their torps). But yeah there is definitely an argument for R4 being on them.

So this is how Jake can work:

Jake Rolls and hands out a focus action to the first ship, then Jake can use the Awing's Vectored Thrusters to perform a red boost off the roll, after performing that boost Jakes ability kicks in again and you can handout a focus action to a 2nd ship.

you can also do that in a different order using the Ability Queue, so Jake can Roll and boost first (to get into R1 of 2 ships), then handout focus actions to each of the 2 ships.

Hey thats sweet! Makes more sense, I was just being dumb. Thats way cooler than I originally thought, and adds way more utility. Thanks!
