Ghost: trick or treat?

Hello, does anyone recommend putting a Ghost in the squad? If yes, what upgrades should it have?

Hatin’ Kanan! This particular build I call ā€œLegends Never Die,ā€ because Kanan has four charges for his pilot ability, which stacks rather nicely with Luke’s ability, making him mostly untouchable. That said, you have to fly carefully, because any opponent who thinks things through will try to nuke Kanan off the board before bothering with Luke. So you want to fly Luke in first, and hold Kanan back for at least the first engagement. Second engagement, bringing Kanan up and letting them shoot at him can be valuable, because you can regen the rest of your force charges via Hate and Maul, get a TL with Magva, and double-tap away!

Magva and the Shield upgrade are good, but optional. I also like the idea of Saw and Electronic Baffle, as you get dice mods and stress clearance, but the cost of damage is mitigated slightly by the fact that you can regen force charges.

My main issue is finding a good wingman/(wo)men. Luke works well because he’s upgrade light and self-sufficient, and benefits a lot from Kanan’s pilot ability when that does come into play. I’ve tried running him with Cassian—stress relief and coordination—but that didn’t seem to work as well. I also have a slimmer Hatin’ Kanan build accompanied by two A-Wings, but I haven’t tried it out yet, and I’m hoping to gain a few points to work with for that version in another week here.

ALSO I really enjoy flying Hera as a pilot.

This build in particular I’d probably tweak a couple things on (dorsal instead of ion cannon, likely? Maybe different wingmen, again.), but it was a fun theme-y build with all of Spectre Swuadron from rebels.

Hera loves Kanan (heh), though Saw can be great if you want to save a few points in the focus-mod department. I personally just love Zeb with Intimidation on a 4-primary ship that can change her maneuver at i5. If you play against meta lists, consider pairing her with another i5 or Wedge, and you’ll want a bid.

Cheers! I didn’t play the VCX much in 1e (largely because I’d never seen the show at that point), but it’s one of my favorites now.

Just asking, can the ghost carry bombs?

The Ghost lacks the device slot, but here’s a list I threw together for you with a couple Y-Wing Bombers to escort the Ghost. Nothing too crazy meta good, but I’m sure it could be solid casually

Ghost can not carry bombs.

Hera is a bumper car who throws 5 dice and removes a defense die from whoever she bumps, can swap between many movement positions after seeing enemy movements.

You can’t use the turret if you are bumping(zeb states PRIMARY attacks) and nien numb opens up her possible positions dramatically synergizing with her pilot ability while providing stress relief. turret builds are a waste with intimidate elite slot.

I have been flying ghost Jan and wedge in my local meta and having lots of fun and a lot of wins.

Not necessarily a waste. You can’t double tap your bump-target, but. Yeah. Good reminder.

As long as Hera (Intimidation, Zeb, Nien) has someone to give her mods, she's a COMPLETE BEAST

Lack of bid kinda sucks, but think of the combination.

Hera bumping with Wedge firing from out of arc, and Jan giving a red dice to whoever is in a better position(while doing a blue manuever+boost to maintain positioning)

Possible for Wedge to throw 5 dice(jan+range)while removing 3 defense dice(pilot+outmaneuver +Hera) course this is assuming Hera isn’t going to delete the target without wedge.

Who does the enemy target first as they are about equal threats, and removing the ghost is time consuming if they lack proton torpedoes or some form of double tap.
