Travel Step Homerule

By Kauperwood, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Overlord takes 3 cards and Heroes name the location they want to go through like river, mountain, forest, road etc.
And then Overlord reads the event that occurs to them on their journey.Heroes cant choose one location more then twice.

If the heroes chose same locations two times in a row then their second journey will be longer by one location (4 cards).

My group’s house rule is if a “No Event” is drawn, once per travel phase we may discard it and draw a new card.

It’s mostly because we enjoy having travel events, and there’s a LOT of cards- it’d be a shame if 2/3 card draws were “no event”. I’m still waiting on getting one of the Labyrinth of Ruin archetype buff cards to show up.

Edit: we also encourage the Overlord not to read the outcome of a choice presented on a card. Example: the heroes may spend 25 gold to help a couple rebuild their home. That’s all we know- we don’t know the consequences until after we spend or don’t spend the gold. It helps the world feel more alive I think.
