I think giving them a comm upgrade slot is the ideal way. That they don't need a comms officer, because they all are trained more than the average stormtrooper at using that stuff. But don't let them take gear like grapping hooks.

ah that way it makes sense that the coms specialist is seperate from them, good idea. but do give them the relay upgrade in their box then.

and make the droid heavy weapon NOT squad specific so you get selling points not just for people that want some navy troopers but people that would like the melee droid in other squads aswell.

how to do the multi- hitpoint in a squad with hitpoint 1 troops though? perhaps Bullwark # when this unit would take wounds you can place the number of wounds specified behund the bullwark keyword on this card instead. if the number of wounds matches the # of bullwark remove this mini from the squad.

or something like that.

Yeah I think it's high time some heavy weapons were interchangeable from squad to squad. That droid would be an ideal one. I'd also like a bounty hunter or attack beast that was a heavy weapon or personnel upgrade who could join any squad in the game.

Easy Navy Troopers who aren't Fleet Trooper carbon-copies:

Dirt cheap. (7-8 pts per man? 28-32 pts for 4-man unit)

White defense.

Standard DH-17s with 2 white dice per.

No surges.

Maybe give them a keyword.

2 Personnel upgrade slots. (2 extra dudes? Comm specialist? Officer? Droids? Up to you)

Voila, garbage-tier cheap troops. Fits the Empire and fits their on-screen performance as dudes who mostly just get shot, and provides an interesting strategic option for Imperial players in contrast with relatively-expensive Stormtroopers.

Though I'd still like to see the Mudtroopers as an in-between, cheap-ish but serviceable infantry option for Empire.

i like this but say 9 cost it still the cheapest unit no heavy weapons slot but two personnel it fit better i like this alot key word would have to be stand by one that all fill they would have. unit cost 36 box has six models and come with a new sculpt of generic officer as 7th model and you would see they sell like hot cakes.
