Heading there this year for another game, is there any Armada to play there?

I have no idea what Origins is.
There typically aren't Armada events at Origins. However, we do have a rather large Armada community in Columbus. So if you're in town for the week, send me a message and I can set up some people/games for you at a local store.
Mondays and Wednesday are Star Wars nights at two of our stores, but there are people who have other days/evenings free.
FFG was only officially at Origins one year (2016). That year they did run an Imperial Assault, X-Wing, Epic X-Wing, and Armada tournament.
But, for whatever reason, they seemed to decide they weren't going to do Origins any more. Which is a real darn shame, because speaking as a gamer Origins is far superior to Gencon. Gencon has almost become too big for itself (e.g. overflow into Lucas Oil, insane lines in the Dealer Hall opens, shoulder-to-shoulder cramming into the Event floor, etc.). Sure, the crowds, costumes, and madness are part of the fun of Gencon... but Origins is great in the sense that the event hall has ample space for gamers, there are very little lines for anything, and you can just jump into demos or easily just walk up and start chatting with a person at their booth.
Basically:
Gencon is a spectacle to bask in and celebrate the modern cult that is geek-gaming.
Origins is a really convenient place to actually play and demo games.

I couldn't agree more with you!
FFG has been almost religious in its non-presance at Origins. Even in 2016, they had events, but no booth. I keep wondering what Origins did to piss them off. At this point it has to be vendetta rather than logical.
