If there's a huge demand for gaming in that era (which I find unlikely) then you just make them up. Like they invented rebels on AT-RT's.

I'm not sure what I'll do in 2019: in 2018 my painting was definitely dominated by Legion. At some point I'll pick up wookies and more Atgars probably. Maybe sell a core sets worth of Hoth-colored rebels just to make room in storage boxes for to paint new generic ones to base a not-Hoth-rebel army off of but... the repetitive nature of the releases have left me feeling bored with Legion and mentally I'm starting to shift gears to another system for awhile. There's a lot that I'm still excited to do with Legion, but, I have no idea if or when that's ever going to be supported by a diverse product range. Maybe I'll go back to focus on painting Oldhammer Fantasy Battles models for Kings of War/Dragon Rampant, paint more 40k stuff, or revisit some of my historical armies.

I don't think they made up Rebels using AT-RTs, I think that happened first in Star Wars Commander as a possible unit for the Rebels and if not was in Battlefront 2. I mean yea, they CAN try to come up with stuff but they likely want to pull from familiar iconography to entice people to pick up the expansions. So far the Resistance has yet to be able to have anything iconic to them that A) isn't from the OT and B) isn't Poe being great in an X-Wing.

Never heard of it: don't blame me, Star Wars has too many novels, games, comics, toys, movies, tv shows, and so forth to possibly keep track of it all. So even if that's the case, poach some weird Resitance doohickey from some comic book or something and there ya go.

Not that I want ST models, but, they aren't going to let what is and isn't in the movies stop them if they decide that's the way to go.

I won't lie, even though I've never seen them before Legion came out, the AT-RT was a huge reason I wanted in on this.

Well, this is what I'm basing my timeline on. So far FFG has managed to release something every month, near the end of the month. We had Chewie+Wookies in December so...

January 24th: Specialist (both factions)
February: Jyn + Pathfinders
March: Krennic + Death Troopers
April: Heavies (both factions)

Right, April is the first month of 2nd Quarter. >_<

Battlefront 2, EA, the one that blew up in the news for the micro transaction nonesense. And the issue with them trying to pull something from the comics for the Resistance is they still don't even have anything there, the comics, in that era, have effectively only really focused on Poe and Black Squadron so they haven't shown any of them using any kind of vehicles to be used. Maybe episode 9 and the tie in material will change that with it being I think it being stated to be a year after TLJ but so far they just need to give time to have that era expanded to give the Resistance even enough units to fill out an initial wave let alone multiple releases.

That said, I do hope at some point the game adds that era to the game, not because I'm a fan of it, so that people who like that era can play stuff they like and so that we get more factions to allow for more diversity in lists to play and play against. Heck if FFG wants to go full X-Wing and have seven factions with Scum added I think they should do it, I'm going to focus on OT and PT era stuff but so long as FFG can keep their production up to support the new releases more options would be fun.

I really really want a third corps unit option for both armies, and I think Reb Hoth troopers and Shore Troopers would really fulfill that role well. Possibly make them more expensive than regular corps for a second keyword to their cards.

For Shore Troopers I think Tactical and Precise would make for a crippling combo, but I'd also settle for just tactical. Nimble would also provide a real change in Imperial army makeup.

For those rebs maybe low profile or steady to give them some more teeth or sticking power.

I'd settle for same stats different model.

We've got releases through May... maybe this summer we get Tauntaun Riders and Dewback Riders so each army can joust. I'm not confident about more Original releases this year after that, though. Don't they have to change over their factory space from time to time so every game they make can get produced?

isn't he one of the pathfinder guys the one pointing in the picture? if not then tarken would be my guess as the opposite to him and that could be a april announcement but not release date.

Can you provide us with a link to whatever picture you're talking about? Cassian is in no way affiliated with the upcoming Pathfinders release and is in no pictures we've seen so far for them. I can't even find a picture of a Pathfinder pointing.

wont let me crop it down for this but here is the link.

of course when i first look at that i was dead tired so i could be hugely mistaken its just some random rebel trooper.

It's definitely some random trooper. It's not even really a possibility that it's Cassian.

IIRC, there is at least one mission in the single player campaign where you pilot an AT-RT. The single player campaign is considered canon by the powers that be.

The only single player campaign I recall was that of the 501st; Rebels were playable for sure, but they didn't get an AT-RT.

Ah, which Battlefront 2 are you referencing? The one from 2005, or the one from 2017? The one from 2017 had a single player campaign set during the GCW era.

There's only one Battlefront 2.
Anything else is just a pale imitation.

That said, it makes sense for Rebels to have AT-RTs... ****, it makes sense for some of the frontier Imp companies to have a few kicking around.

I mentioned it being Battlefront 2, EA, in an earlier post so I didn't keep stating it was that battlefront 2 with every post. And you are right, it is a pale imitation, but they do have it as a vehicle option on a number of maps.

If we eventually see Yoda, it would make sense for him to be part of a Clone Wars-era release. Back when he was more sprightly. Same with Obi-Wan, really.

Good Guys:

Yoda
Obi-Wan
Anakin? Mace Windu?

Bad Guys:

Count Dooku
General Grievous
Jango Fett?

Fixed :P. I'd also expect Commander Cody or at least a generic Clone Commander, and Asajj Ventress, and probably a generic Droid Commander. It would also be a good era for the introduction of a criminal faction in the form of the Maul led crime syndicate.

I'm sure it will happen, but I'd rather not see Jango as part of the CIS line up. Hondo makes far more sense as an operative, as would Durge, and Asajj Ventress would be amazing to see on the table as either a commander or operative.

Now this is where I have to admit something; I've never watched Rebels or Clone Wars. I had to look up those two.

So far, aside from the AT-RT, we haven't gotten any models that were not from the big screen. I wonder if FF would bring in small screen characters?

I think Asajj would be a commander only for the sake that the CIS lacks recognizable commander characters as in it gets difficult after naming around 10 at which point they become rather obscure one episode villains. For the same reason I'm expecting the CIS will end up getting Darth Maul as an Operative or Commander and Jango as an Operative.

The minor issue with Darth Maul being part of the CIS is that technically he was never part of the faction. The Invasion of Naboo was enacted by the Trade Federation ten years in universe before the Clone Wars, and about eight years before the CIS formed.

However, Maul does form a coalition of criminal factions during the Clone Wars, so that would be one way to include him.

Oh, I know and to an extent it is frustrating from a lore perspective that he'd be included as Darth Maul but he is being featured as a pilot for the CIS in X-Wing. He just adds a recognizable to a group that lacks them.

As is, as far as canon characters, they have I think:

1. Count Dooku

2. General Previous

3. Assaj Ventruss

4. Jango Fett

5. Wat Tambor

6. Nute Gunray(?) considering he didn't lead any forces was just part of the separatist council.

7. Kalani

8. Savage Oppress

9. Admiral Trench(?) he'd make as much sense as Admiral Ackbar if they were to add our favorite Rebel Admiral

10. Cad Bane

11. Aura Sing(?) only if they don't plan to do a Scum faction since she did go against the Republic and Jedi

After this they get into more fairly obscure characters for the most part like Whorm Loathsom, and Lok Durd.

your leaving off Darth Sideous

AT-RTs were in Revenge of the Sith during the battle of Kashyyyk.

The official Star Wars database would be the best place to base predictions on. How likely would a Scum faction be? Maul, 2 squads of Crimson Dawn troopers, a pirate speeder and conversion cards for Boba Fett would be a good starter. Then have Mandalorians as SpecOps, Hondo and Jabba as commanders, Savage Opress and the bounty hunters as operatives, and a Cloud Car as a heavy. Having a Good, the Bad, and the Ugly style standoff over the supplies sounds fun.
