What's up with the new rules?

By Sagremor, in Tannhauser

Please, could someone explain to me what does it mean that the "New rules" are going to be realeased? This game looks really appealing to me but I don't know what to do in current situation. Should I wait for a revised edition of Tannhauser (is there going to be one?), or should I just buy the current edition and than just buy the new rulebook? Please, help.

Thanks.

you can buy the game now no problem, the revised rules will be out in the spring, a sample set is allready available now as a download, the game components will not change only a revision of the rules to make it simpler to get to grips with

Thanks, Darknight.

Now, this game has really jumped onto my buy list.

Several years ago, Battle Front (Flames of War) provided a free set of their revised rules to recent buyers of the original version. The new set was provided thru the original game store or via mail with proof of purchase (either a receipt or by presenting an original copy of the rules/game).

For FFG: There are a few potential buyers holding back in anticipation of the new rules release. Consider offering a free set of TH rules 2.0 to new purchase owners in order to generate increased sales.

remember they are only going to be about £4 -$5 for the download

Having finally took the leap and bought the game last week I was initially disturbed at the mention of new rules, but for an extra £4 I don't mind. Plus the new ones seem more expansive and simpler than the ones included with the game. Well at least from the preview anyway.

glad you got ot rowey, enjoy it, the new rules are a bit different but not that different itl be hard to re learn, plus as you say with the preview available now you can implement them straight away

I wouldn't do that if I were you as the new rules are meant to work hand in hand with the redefined equipement which we don't have right now.

To be fair, will be getting to grips with the rules in the box first. Will make the new rules so much easier to digest and understand.

I take it the redifined equipment will be in the full version of the new rules?

yea they will mate :) , theres no probs playing with the old rules, i never minded them at all, the new ones will just strealine stuff and there are some changes but nothing thats hard to get to grips with, as i said, have fun with it :)
