Looking for what could be a good fun build to play competitively for 200 points or less. Just trying to get some ideas and new things to try! Any help is great.
Still kinda new to X-Wing

Still kinda new to X-Wing
Edited by SiIentKnightDepends on your idea of fun.
If Supernatty Luke and Sabine with all the maneuvers they can do is fun, then:
Sabine Wren (38)
Debris Gambit (2)
Luke Skywalker (62)
Supernatural Reflexes (12)
Servomotor S-foils (0)
AP-5 (30)
Norra Wexley (Y-Wing) (43)
Dorsal Turret (4)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
Total: 200
Something like this seems decent in Hyperspace
T-65 X-wing - •Wedge Antilles - 52
•Wedge Antilles -
Red Two
(52)
Servomotor S-foils (Open) (0)
BTL-A4 Y-wing - •Norra Wexley - 52
•Norra Wexley -
Gold Nine
(43)
Trick Shot (1)
Ion Cannon Turret (6)
R4 Astromech (2)
BTL-A4 Y-wing - •“Dutch” Vander - 48
•“Dutch” Vander -
Gold Leader
(42)
Ion Cannon Turret (6)
T-65 X-wing - •Biggs Darklighter - 48
•Biggs Darklighter -
Red Three
(48)
Servomotor S-foils (Open) (0)
Total: 200/200
Hyperspace or Extended is a good question. If you're relatively new, you're probably not too worried about Hyperspace format? It's used for the smaller leg of FFG's main tournament scheme (probably more Hyperspace events, I just mean they're going to tend towards smaller events). If you're playing with people who are training themselves for those tournaments, though, they might prefer to only play Hyperspace.
Also, what do you have so far? Are you only buying 2nd edition products, or do you have a conversion kit of any sort?
This one has been giving us a lot of grief at our local store. It's wonderfully simple, yet just messes with your opponent.
Ten Numb (50)
Braylen Stramm (50)
Roark Garnet (38)
Moldy Crow (12)
Thane Kyrell (48)

It leaves 2 points for a bid if necessary or add a talent or two wherever.
Why it's wonderfully simple? Fly the B-Wings and HWK together. Roark will give the best option initiatve 7 each round. The 180 arc of the Moldy Crow is critical to ensure somebody is getting I7 each round.
Jousting 2 B-Wings with one of them I7 is NOT fun. (My personal favorite aces, Fenn Rau and Talonbane, just get destroyed. Fenn goes in initiative 6, then takes an initiative 7 blast to the face from 4 dice that are modified to almost guarantee 3-4 hits and Fenn has to hope he can roll them off and NOT take any crits. (With an initiative bid, you can even shoot first against other I7's that may be on the board.
The B-Wings LOVE stress. It makes them very unpredictable. Barrel roll to get a focus and stress together if you can.
It really messes with lists that like to dish out stress? "Oh, another stress, thank you kind sir."
Then you have Thane, but really, you could substitute any 48 points in there. I like Thane, he's just kind of independent of it all. Fly him around and once the B-Wings are past shields (Which they do quickly), Thane starts flipping damage cards.
Again, super simple. You're pulling out 4 ships and only 5 cards (Unless you put a talent in there somewhere). You can maneuver tightly against arc dodgers. You can lay enough firepower to take down heavy ships quickly as well. And you have 8 health, 4 of them shields per B-Wing. You really need to lay into them to get them off of the board. And while you're doing that, Thane and Roark are plinking away at you themselves.
It's really balanced, and IMO not at all fair. (It's not my list so I haven't stolen it yet and fielded it myself. Just played against it numerous times and it's just deadly.)
The following started out with Luke instead of Thane. But after "downsizing" by switching from Luke to Thane, I believe it makes all three a little better than they were with Luke on board.
This was specifically built with a hyperspace format in mind, although I believe it'll do okay in extended.

Saw's upgrades mean more often than not he's going to have a pair of focus tokens handy every turn even while taking advantage of the U-Wing's red stop. Wedge and Thane are fantastic naked. An extra bit of hp along with torpedoes just makes 'em mean though I waffle on whether to go with the shield upgrade or an R2 unit.
