Turns out there are lots of pretty good ways to equip Poe. I was happy to win a Wave Championship (hyperspace format) with the following:

Poe gets 2 offensive rerolls from his wingman's M9-G8 and Lonewolf and defensive rerolls from his own lock with R2-HA. I got good use from all these upgrades. Pattern Analyzer is a good way to turn around and keep guns on target, of course, plus its got the normal Black One stuff.

This squad has a 9 point bid, which is decent. I got a few good uses from Bastian's ability, too.

If you are ok going down to a 2 point bid you can upgrade Bastian to Nien.

Give R2-HA a shot!

I think Bastian is going to be the sleeper hit of the Resistance. His ability allows him to get off a fully modded proton torpedo shot AFTER your higher-PS ships have already fired, which means that the free crit is very likely to go through. He seems like a fantastic way to finish off your opponent’s damaged ships.

At initiative 2 with boost or BR, and Pattern Analyzer, he's a good blocker. I didn't put torpedoes on him in this squad, but that's not bad.

M9-G8 goes well with his ability. In one round during the tournament he used his lock 3 times; it started on my Poe and granted an offensive reroll, which helped Poe do damage. I then moved the lock to the damaged ship and forced the opponent to reroll 1 attack die (crit to blank in this case), then finally when Bastian himself shot, he spent the lock for his own offensive rerolls. A rare triple use, and quite fun.
