Hi.

I'm a noob Targayen Player. I have a Targ deck and maybe I'll build a Greyjoy or a Martell deck.

I have a friend, a Stark Player. He use the Plot card Building Season in his first round e tak the Bear Island and break my game because my strongest caracter die in one round.

How can I stop Bear Island? With Targ, with Greyjoy and with Martell?

targ and martell = Condemned by the Council Response: After you win an Intrigue challenge, choose a location controlled by the losing opponent. If that location has the Shadows crest, return it to Shadows. Otherwise, discard it from play.

greyjoy = Wharf Rats No attachments. Wharf Rats cannot be killed. After Wharf Rats' controller wins a challenge, discard the top card of its controller's deck. Response: After Wharf Rats comes out of Shadows, choose an opponent. That opponent takes control of Wharf Rats. (give it to stark player to 'turn off' bear island)

a little harder but, all 3 = The Price of War Response: After you win a Military challenge in which you control at least 1 attacking War crest character, choose and discard from play up to 2 non-limited locations controlled by the losing opponent. (Limit 1 per round.)

general ways = play more attachments, especially saves. use dupes (to save) try power of blood and more nobles in martell and targ (targ has attachment that adds noble crest.

I say search for Lady Daenery's Chambers and show him that Flame-Kissed and Forever Burning can kill just as often as Bear Island!

Everything Lars said is good. To expand on the attachments you may want to run and put on your characters in Targ build, I'd recommend these:

- Bones of a Child

- Aegon's Blade

- Rusted Sword

Those three work well in most Targ decks. You may also want to consider Tears of Lys. The Dragon's Blood may work if your running a Targ Noble Deck. Rhaegar's Harp can be played as well, but that character will gain all traits; some good (i.e. Lord), some bad (i.e. Ally). If you have enough Lord and Lady characters, Bodyguard works well too.

With greyjoy you can use Theon Greyjoy from kings of the sea (any phase: pay 1 gold to kneel a location). So with 1 gold each turn you eliminate the problem of bear island. The saves for Theon will do the rest.

you have to protect only your most valuable character from bear island; I used this location and I play against it and it's not so problematic as it seems (in fact I decided to stop using it).
