Derry New Hampshire Regionals Live Stream

By Thrindal, in Star Wars: Armada

This is why I ask for printed lists. This list was "Illegal" in that the MC80 had 2 Modifications. He had Spinals on the ship, I changed it to X17 for generating the list. I do wish I could require printed lists.

So my first battle in the regional was actually against the Tourney winner (Eric Daniels). After he crushed me, we were discussing the game, and I heard a sentiment (which seemed to be recapitulated amongst other players, either verbally or by virtue of the lists they brought), that the squadron game is either an all-in or all-out thing. The days of a light fighter screen, just to hold things up, seem to have gone the way of the dodo bird. And I saw quite a few squadronless lists on Saturday. Maybe this has been the meta for some time and I'm just out of it, but it seems to be true moreso than ever before. Anyone else seeing likewise (or, differently?)

EDIT: My list is #12 (Rocco), posted by Thrindal above.

Thrindal, why can't you require printed lists? Seems within your rights/authority as a TO, especially if you announce it ahead of time.

"Full squads or no squads" is not bad advice. If you look at Truthiness' thread, taking a look at people in the top 10% at Regionals, 42% of those people had between 121-134 points of squads, and 12% had zero squads.

That being said, I still see Valen/Ciena or Tycho/Shara + 2 A-wings on the table, and I recently played against a list that had 2 A-wings and 4 YT-2400s that effectively killed my Intel and stopped my bombers from doing enough damage to kill my opponent's Liberty. (I'm not a top player though.)

Some folks just don't have access to printers. Like with X-Wing I am sure there will be an App at some point and that is all you will need and eliminate paper all together. For now all I can do is highly suggest.

We have had a printed or emailed rule before if that helps.

Yeah I might add an E-mail option in the future. Thanks.
